   Friend lived in the ground floor 'large studio' for a couple of months. Absolutely horrific place. Windows to front and communal always getting smashed, rubbish lying around, drug use everywhere. People coming and going all hours of the night who don't even live there, noise from the rooms, polluted and noisy outside. Avoid at all costs. Such a depressing unsafe place. Rooms are rented to the most vulnerable who are often taken advantage of. The people who let the places do not do what they say, repairs never happens.

   My grandmother grew up in this building, her father was a firefighter; in her memoirs, she mentioned the Great Silvertown Explosion (1917)as he was called for duty & all the smoke & dust in the area; her family lived in Nos. 1, 2 & 3 over the years before moving to Hornchurch. She wrote that it was the 'best station we ever lived in".

   - Pros: cheap rent, modern studios, supermarkets nearby, pretty much safe area. - Cons: isolated place, not in central Greenwich or near the station, always have to take a bus. Very near from the highway so quite polluted and noisy.
