Recently had a screening at Close-up. Jake and the team took great care of us and we had a wonderful day there. Booking process and communication was clear and quick. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a great cinema.
Had the pleasure of booking a Cast and Crew screening for a series of short films at the Close-Up. The experience was incredibly positive dealing with the staff and cinema as a whole. As an independent filmmaker I needed somewhere affordable with excellent facilities and I found that at this gem of a place.
Welcoming warm place to meet, leather sofas, range of soft and alcoholic drinks (recommend London Fog tea!) Extensive library of Books and DVDs, available to members. Cosy cinema showing celluloid and digital. 3mins from Shoreditch High St Overground. Famous Brick Lane is round the corner.
Found Close-Up by accident while we were in the neighbourhood, and popped in for a drink. Was so enchanted I booked the venue, including cinema, for my birthday party. We were about 20 people and everyone loved it. Close-Up is my new favourite place and I think the new favourite place of the birthday guests too!
Can't speak highly enough of the service and professionalism shown by the team at Close-Up Cinema! We screened our students end-of-year short films here and the projection and sound was fantastic, we had no issues with the format of the films we provided, and everyone who attended enjoyed the experience and the drinks afterwards in the bar. Highly recommended and we look forward to returning!
Close-Up is fantastic. Relaxed atmosphere, lovely staff and a generally brilliant resource for film lovers and filmmakers alike. We rented the screening room, and the experience was great from start to finish. The picture looked brilliant and the 5.1 sound system was truly immersive. They made the whole process super easy and were very helpful throughout. Would highly recommend!
I hosted an event at Close-Up Cinema and was beyond impressed with the staff, caliber of the venue, and quality of the screening room. Our screening was a huge success and such a meaningful experience because of this cinema. The guests equally kept saying, "What a beautiful space!" as they hadn't yet discovered this hidden gem! I hope everyone does because it is fabulous.
Wonderful venue!! Great value with incredible screen and audio quality. So pleased we were able to hold a private screening of our short film BabyThump and bonus! Crew and cast were able to order at the bar with good selection of drinks and enough seating to hold nearly 30 people. Highly recommend for any filmmaker and cinema-goer!
I found Close-Up Cinema on Tag venue. The price was a lot cheaper than a lot of other options, but the experience did not feel cheap in any way. It's an intimate space perfect for independent screenings, and the quality of the screen itself is top notch. The staff and service were also very inviting and chilled, complemented by the bar and lobby area which you couldn't get in a 'proper cinema' - could not have picked a better place to screen my debut short. Ideal for filmmakers and film lovers alike.
