Gate 40 disgusting treatment of elderly patients. Nursing staff abrupt with no concern for patient welfare. My 87 year old father had an appointment for 12.00, we were told we could not wait with him as it was men only area, I asked roughly how long he would be, we were told to come back in two hours. Returned to department two hours later to find my father and another elderly gentleman still sitting there. The explanation from the rather rude nurse was that the theaters did not start until 1.30 and there were three other people before my father. We had no issues with there being other patients before my father but all their appointments were for 12.00. When I asked why his appointment was for 12.00, along with everone else when theaters did not start until 1.30, we were asked to leave again. We went off to get drinks for my father and the other elderly man that was still waiting and when we got back to gate 40 the door was locked. Ringing the bell over and over brought no one, a Dr came to enter and he let us in. The rude nurse brought out an abrupt Sister to us, I tried to explain that his mobility was not good and that sitting all that time did not help, the Sister said we are taking him now and as he tried to stand he fell backwards, I tried to tell her he was unstable on his feet and her attitude was disgusting. We were told not to go back to the department until they rang us, another 2 hours. As a family we will never again take our father to that hospital, at 87 years old, worked all his life, he deserves better. Filthy, more likely to come out with more than you went in with

Today i called an ambulance and when it arrived I couldn’t have wished for two better paramedics. They were very professional and caring. They took me to Pinderfields and the same care and professionalism continued. How fortunate we are to have this level of people looking after our medical wellbeing. Thank you all. Brilliant pediatrics department, the childrens assessment unit/ childrens ward staff were amazing with my son. He went in struggling with his breathing and every nurse and doctor we saw were checking in regularly, informative and so friendly towards him. I can't thank them enough for making his first hospital visit a positive experience, they got him feeling well enough to be treated at home quickly and with plenty of information and medicines. They showed me how to use his inhaler and gave some great advice too. We are very happy with the staff here, they are fantastic.

The ambulance staff was amazing! I was admitted to hospital due to a laceration to my arm and lost about a cup and half of blood. Got to the hospital and there was no checks in place, they didn`t check my womb, they gave me some pain killers without even asking if ive taken anything prior, they never even asked about my mental state or if im suicidal.. The nurse in charge had a go at me because I was bleeding heavily in the waiting room and he didn`t want me to contaminate the chairs.. The other nurse, sighed at me and i asked him if he was fed up of me and he said "yes.." Edit - I even got penalised and criticised because I couldn`t remember my allergies off hand, im not a doctor nor a gp, I don`t know.. Anyways im shocked of the lack of care that was given. I even sat on the floor due to lack of chairs and not 1 person came to ask if I was ok. The patients cared alot more about me than the staff its self. I gotta give a shout out to the woman that was catering, she was lovely, she offered me a drink and she was the only 1 outa all of the staff, cared.. Anyways spend 3 mins with the crysis team and got discharged.. I had little clothing on and they was more than happy for me to go walk 3 miles, covered in blood, in the rain and cold.. I will not and repeat will not to go to pinderfields ever again.. Utterly discusting place.. This is what my tax payments are going to?.. Gunna work a few hours less at work and sit under the bracket me thinks..

I honestly don’t have the words to express how grateful we are to the incredible midwives who helped bring our beautiful daughter into this world. From the very beginning, you treated us with so much warmth, care, and reassurance, and in the moments we needed it most, you were our strength. You weren’t just medical professionals you became part of our journey, part of our story. The way you guided us through every step, kept us calm, and made sure both baby and mum were safe will stay with us forever. Your kindness, your patience, and your gentle encouragement meant more than you will ever know. Watching our daughter arrive safely into the world was the most emotional and life changing moment of our lives, and it’s because of your incredible support that the experience was so beautiful. We will always remember your smiles, your comforting words, and the genuine love you put into your work. We hope and pray that all your wishes and dreams come true, You guys are an inspiration. Thank you, Fazeela, Layla, Abigail & the rest of the midwives and doctors at gate 18 also our wonderful community midwife Nicola from the bottom of our hearts, for helping us welcome our wonderful daughter. You will forever have a special place in our family’s memories. ❀️

Atrocious from start to finish. Next to no communication or continuity between staff. Moved to a cubicle with 4 other patients where staff came and discussed their conditions with absolutely NO confidentiality at all. Had to chase up x-ray and blood results after waiting over 8 hours. Given medication without any information what they are for or their side-effects, which were unpleasant. Appreciate that it's a busy A&E but needs some serious management restructuring. Really glad this isn't my regular A&E/hospital!!

I went to pinderfields AE with breathing difficulties and shortness of breath and I could not breath when lying down. several times the doctor Asked the same question, I went to bed at night and could not breath. So the doctor ask me to do 30 squats halfway through the squats I had a heart attack and now the hospital is refusing to take my complaint seriously or even at all.

I went to a&e in for a scan because of severe abdominal pain, waited hours, the doctors don’t even talk to each other. Nearly got overdosed for this reason. Didn’t get my scan after hours of being poked and prodded and received meds I had an allergic reaction- I found out this medicine after, has stuff in it they know me to be allergic to. I complained and got given meds that will make me worse cause I’m allergic to them too and got sent home- ended up back in a&e a couple of hours later with extreme side effects, making my abdominal pain worse. All cause of their fault and had to wait again with the terrible side effects. Found out I got an infection from them to top it off. Absolutely disgusting. I ended up worse off and not getting fixed for the original problem. Do not go here!

Hurt my foot and heard it pop..had rude nurse talk down to me and patronising, telling me that having an xray was like having radio therapy..my replie to her was iv have had radio therapy! She made out that I was waisting her time but not in so many words and my replie was I wouldn't have come if I'd not heard my foot pop. I get there is plenty of people that do go to a&e for nothing and they are very stretched but there is no need to treat people in this way..wounder if she was like this with the lady that was behind me with the symptoms of a migraine!!! Wounder how she would feel if it was the other way round..always treat people how u would like people to treat you.
