Price has now gone up to £55 for a shih tzu full groom. Staff are always changing. Had another new staff member today. I have been going here for many years but I wont be going again. The owner of the groom room is obviously greedy and cant keep their staff.
Its a shame the groom room is the only place we have ever used for our dog. However, after driving all the way from selly oak, and booking a month in advance and paying a deposit, we turned up to a closed salon. Not only that, when we explained our frustrations on this, we were told 'well our staff deserve a break'. Could have told us it was cancelled by contacting us. we have no messages at all. This also happened with the same attitiude at the selly oak salon. An apolagy would have been appreciated. There doesnt seem to be any reliable branches of these left.
I had paid a deposit for my dog's grooming appointment, but the staff got sick on the scheduled day, which is understandable. Therefore we rescheduled it. No problem here, but when the new date did not work for me due to my work. I called them to let them know I can't make it, and they said they will consider this as a no-show and asked me to pay another deposit to rebook and the previous payment won’t be deducted from the new one. The staff's attitude was rude, and I find this unfair. I won't be returning again and wanted to share my experience to prevent others from facing the same situation.
do not take your dog to these groomers. The staff are absolutely vile, and what you pay for you dont get. They think it's fine for your dog to sit in other dog's wee. When told about this, they are very very nasty. and when the dogs come out, they are very very nervous. DONT EVER SEND YOUR DOGS THERE, UNLESS THEY WANNA BE COVERED IN WEE!!!
Took our 5 month old puppy there for one of her first grooms. We were really impressed by the groom. The staff were really friendly and have a genuine love for dogs. They we're really great with our puppy.
My pup had his first groom today, with an upgrade for a few added extras. The ladies were lovely, they looked after Freddie amazingly. He came out smelling and looking beautiful.
Where to start? We would regularly take our two small dogs to the Groom Room at Merry Hill. For around 3 years we gave them a lot of business together with the vets adjoining (Vets4Pets). Both businesses, within Pets at Home, made a lot of money out of us. However, in 2021, they refused to groom our dog Rosie due to what they alleged was a serious condition. One male member of staff implied that he would report us to the RSPCA as he was basically alleging we were neglectful owners. The 'serious skin condition' was in fact a bit of a rash on the underside of her belly, and we therefore applied sudocream. Given that they had told us we would need to get her skin tested (costing a fortune) we complained in writing. Fast forward a year later, and today we contacted them to get the same dog's face trimmed. The female member of staff told us they would not help and that effectively Rosie/ourselves were banned. Due to our complaint of a year ago! We explained how they had raised concerns about a serious skin condition, implying neglect, and that they would report us. We, therefore, had responded by complaining and informing them that there was nothing wrong accept a rash on the under belly of Rosie (she's fine, and never required any tests, as the goons at the Groom Room had alleged). Pathetic place. Feeble, small-minded people. Who'd previously enjoyed alot of business from us. Our advice....avoid them.
My dog always comes back smelling lovely. I have had the odd occasion when she has been de-shed where she's has scabs on her back but they haven't been problematic.
Lovely girls that rebooked appointment for me 3 times! Nothing too much trouble and my puppy came out looking like a little celebrity.They did a puppy trim and were bang on time for me to collect.Very helpful info on products that I asked about. 2nd visit. Hardly touched his hair and left tufts, clipper lines and pieces missing from his ears. Called to get it done again but no return call. Won't use again.
We booked in our Miniature Poodle for a £42 groom (26th Feb.'19) and found their service efficient. The quality of the clip however was far less than satisfactory with an excessively short, unstyled and lazy trim that left our pedigree Poodle looking more like a cartoon figure than professionally groomed dog. The girl staff member we dealt with also claimed that she had found a flea on the dog's coat - I did not believe this as the dog is fully up to date with high quality treatments and wonder if this is what they tell customers that their staff do not take a liking too. We will not be returning - and I cannot recommend their quality of work.
