They ask you to phone for an appointment at 0800 am. And when you do somehow you find your number six in the queue. Yet no one answers the phone until around 10 past 8. Then unbelievably no appointments for 16 weeks yet how many doctors work their

This surgery and bessacarr are brilliant, all the admin staff, nurses & doctors are brilliant. In the 3 years I've lived in Doncaster they've always been helpful. Yes there are long waits sometimes to get through, but that's the way the world is now. I've recently had surgery and the nurses who've looked after me having been amazing, very reassuring & kind. Keep up the great work :-)

The practice seems to have cut it's reception staff and i have ended phone calls after being on hold for 30 minutes. I realise that the issues with NHS cost cutting may well effect this. The nurse practitioners are very good and are often easier to talk to than some of the doctors. It seems difficult at times to get an appointment with a doctor and rarely get to see the same one. Overall I rate the practice at 3.5 stars as I believe that it strives to do it's best in difficul times .

Absolutely disgusting service, the phone is constantly engaged and there is no 'queue' system in place! I rang the surgery over 30 times yesterday and finally got through at 3.30pm (I started ringing at 8am!). When you finally do get through, the reception staff either don't seem to have a clue what they are doing or are really quite abrupt and you've got no chance of getting an appointment because all the slots are taken! I have now resigned myself to going in person but this isn't always possible and certainly isn't ideal for most people. Absolutely shockingly bad and if I could I would give zero stars!

This doctors is a joke . Every time I try and get a appointment I get told none are available. But if a female member of my family calls they get one straight away ! How's that work then ?

I have been with Mount Group for 7 years. For the past two years I have never received help, never had an access to a doctor. And even in the one time I needed an appointment cancelled they sent me message for being late for it. My spoken English is not that good and I notice a discriminatory demeanor in the receptionists. And it is like they try to demonstrate they won't help out in any way. I am looking for other options.

Can't get an appointment most of the time but the staff are lovely and friendly, been with them since 2004. Would recommend a less busy practice if your looking for one.

In February 2021, I called the practice to let them know my Copper IUD contraceptive would expire in October the same year. After 6 months of calls I finally got an appointment. I attended my appointment at the Thorn Road Practise to have my current IUD removed and a new 5 year one fitted. was asked if I had brought the IUD with me. To which I replied that I did not have one, was not prescribed one and thus had not brought one with me to the appointment. The doctor then asked me about my current coil as they 'had no record of this ever being fitted'. I was then interrogated by the Doctor, who insisted it was my responsibility to retrieve said medical records, and made inappropriate comments implying I was irresponsible for not knowing the IUD I had fitted five years earlier. Both the nurse and Doctor asked if I would like to take the mini pill until my prescribed IUD arrived. I explained that I do not react well with hormones and that was the reason I had chosen to have the IUD fitted. I refused the pill as I had explained my reasoning but was asked three more times if I would like to 'take some home' with me. I felt unheard and was made to feel ashamed for not knowing the information the Doctor requested. I was asked to find the medical records and ask for them to be transferred, then call the Bessacarr Medical Practise and ask them to prescribe the correct IUD. Which I did as soon as possible. In February, I arrived I went into the room with the same Doctor and nurse from the previous appointment. I sat on the bed, with nothing on my lower half ready for the procedure. It was at this point that the Doctor noted the wrong IUD had been ordered and that this IUD was too large. She then told me that whoever wrote the prescription had not received the correct information and that I would not be able to have the fitting. The Doctor proceeded to ask if I would like the mini pill, which I explained again very clearly causes me extreme depression and anxiety. On my way out of the office the nurse said to me 'I think men should not have sex unless they want a baby.' to which I was so shocked and shaken I did not reply. Completely unprofessional. The next appointment I entered the room, gave the IUD to a different nurse, took off my bottom half of clothing and got on the bed. The nurse then asked me if I had any swabs prior to my appointments. I explained I had not had any swabs before any of the previous appointments and she mentioned that this was normal practice to check for infections. She went on to ask if I had intercourse within the last two weeks and when the last time was. No one had mentioned this before but luckily I had not. After a few minutes the Doctor enters the room and I am told that this IUD is not the one they ordered. After some digging into records and ringing the pharmacy, I am still naked on the bed, I am told that the pharmacy made an error and that I am unable to be fitted with the IUD again. I left the surgery in tears again. I trusted your practice with my health, only to be miss treated, neglected and endangered by the actions your staff took over the course of a year. The strain this has had on my mental health has caused me to have increased anxiety, nightmares and trouble sleeping. It has put strain on my relationship, and caused countless sleepless nights for my partner who has been working away during the last few months and could not be here to support me in person. I would describe this experience as traumatic. I am so terrified with the incompetence your staff on whole has shown I feel I am unsafe in there hands and am actively looking for a new Doctor.

If the receptionists recognise you and you make chit chat then they are really nice but a couple of them are the coldest statues who do not have an ounce of customer care!. I needed to book an appointment for my Mum as she is experiencing really bad pains from a previous ailment ....I phoned at 8am as that is the time 'appointments' are available from, waited over 40mins on the phone then was answered by MS FROSTY who said Mum would need to bring in a Urine sample first....(in what, her hands????) Then she said I would have to come in first for a urine tube for my Mum, bring it back with urine to the surgery, then wait to be phoned back in the afternoon just to see what they say about it! I JUST WANT AN APPOINTMENT FOR MY MUM WITH A DOCTOR!! This surgery is absolutely TERRIBLE for trying to book appointments and the system here is uncoordinated, shoddy and unpleasant. They won't see you even if you banged on the door taking your last breath! Stay away from this surgery, they simply DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS!!!
