   My warning to parents thinking of putting their daughter forward for music place - consider other schools first. My daughter was told she'd been successful in getting 1 of the music places. However, at clearing, she was not offered a school place! Other schools are much clearer in their music entrance criteria. We felt misled. Fortunately my daughter got a music place at a better school that genuinely values music. Also, our music teacher was not very positive about Archbishop's music reputation.

   School was amazing and offered lots of support until the current head teacher gained her position. I had many issues during the times of my GCSEs as I had been living independently, working and studying. As you can imagine, it was a lot of stress for a 16 year old girl. I had been spoken about amongst the office ladies, claiming I had no chance of getting into sixth form but when I achieved good GCSEs they had no choice but allow me into the sixth form. (very professional, staff commenting about vulnerable children) After 2 weeks of sixth form, the head teacher decided to suspend me on my birthday as I had used my phone where i wasnt supposed to, in the study area. (taking a call from the benefit system!!) Then when I came back from my suspension, they decided to persuade me to leave. They manipulated me to make a decision I did not want to take. No family members or support workers were contacted while they took me out of all lessons to find a new school, all while sobbing my eyes out - confused as to why this was happening. I pointed out what they was doing was illegal, scaring me and claiming I was going to be kicked out anyway, OFSTED would not have allowed them to kick me out because there was nothing to excluded me for anyway! Bearing in mind the only things id done was have makeup on and had my phone out. Now I am resitting year 12 in Bellerive sixth form, they have given me genuine support and helped me more in 6 months than what Archies did in 5 years. I had no support off this school, and if I didnt come to my senses they could have literally destroyed my whole life chances. I can promise you many girls in my position would have give up with education - if your looking to send your child here DO NOT.... the school was destroyed by the despicable head teacher, the school in general was a very pressured environment, you got 30 mins to get lunch - by the time we got it (if at all) teachers would be chasing you to leave the canteen, then chasing you away from your lockers, no space to have a break between classes thus, affecting peoples mental health.

   Don't send your children here! I was a student here from year 7 to year 10. I began to struggle with mental health problems in year 7 and was told by my head of year to stop being over dramatic. My mental health grew progressively worse throughout the years I spent there and the school refused to notice until I was practically in crisis. I ended up being moved to a school run by alder hay as archies could not "keep me safe" according to the head teacher at the time. I was told I would always be welcome back however when I felt ready to return I was practically denied and I would have had to go back on a full time timetable (I'd been part time on and off since year 9) this school is despicable and I urge parents to really look into the support that schools offer...

   It’s a good school and has great education but some things are stupid like there’s two bells at lunch time the first tells you to get to your lockers and stuff like that the second is five minutes later which is to say it’s lesson time and that you should be at your lesson. But the other day the first bell had just rang and me and my friends were at the water fountain when a teacher came out of the bathroom and told us all to get away from the water fountain so we went away and as we turned around there’s the teacher filling up her bottle. Seriously. Also some teachers are really horrible. But they don’t stand for any bullying which is good. There is a problem with seating at lunch time especially and they are now wanting to take more children in year 7 in the next couple of years my view on this is I think you need to sort out the seating at lunch people are sitting on the floor as it Is if there’s not enough room now don’t start taking in more kids per year .

   Some teachers were nice but some were not very helpful. They do not help to sort out problems that students have involving friendships. They do not have the proper facilities to cater for children during lunch times as at times I had not had a place to sit. They do not have enough 'funding' to print out any work so we had to very often draw diagrams during maths and science classes and we had to pay to use the printer when the £2 we got ran out. A few times there have been occasions when the roof had been leaking and a bucket had just been placed underneath in the middle of the floors. Children were not able to go to the toilet between lessons as there were some issues regarding fights. Also, children could not fill water bottles up between lessons for the same reason.
