I have just finished a trial at MAC Clinical Research and it was a very enjoyable experience. The staff were all very friendly, professional and knowledgable and I would recommend doing a trial to anyone who is interested and able to do it.
During my treatments the staff have been amazing throughout. They where clear regarding everything they did. Can't thank then enough for there help and support
Very poor, unprofessional service. I had signed up for a trial in the month of April, which was due to commence middle of July. However they didn't bother to review my medical history until the day before I was due to attend. Unfortunately there was an issue with something in one of my scans which meant I was unable to participate. They could have and SHOULD have discovered this in April, May or even June! This would have given me time to rectify the issue (an misplaced mirina coil). However because they were sloppy and disorganised, they only found this out the day before my appointment (which they had confirmed FIVE TIMES prior to the day). By 4pm the day before my appointment, I had already travelled to Liverpool (as this was several hours away from my home city) AND booked off over 2 weeks from work for the trial, as it was an inpatient trial. To add insult to injury, they were really unbothred and unapologetic about their incompetence and the inconvenience caused to me. They then contacted me again months later saying they were still struggling with participants for the study and behind schedule with their completion of the study and asked if I would I like to re-register to take part! No wonder when your professional standards of practice are so poor and you treat patients this way - the very patients you depend on to complete your studies and trials! Do better!
My trial at MAC Merseyside was a very pleasant experience. All the staff have been incredibly kind, professional and understanding. I'd happily go again for trials in the future.

I was made to feel very welcome. All the staff were really accomodating and I felt really at ease at every single visit. The only downside was the food in the freezer that I was allowed to have was limited to one complete meal only. It would have been nice if there had been a bit more exciting food other than a vergetable lasagne and a few other bits ( and a variety of herbal teas because I couldn't have caffeinated drinks) after fasting for quite a few hours, but... I managed to live with that. I was grateful for the dedication and friendliness of everyone I was involved with at MAC clinical research in Liverpool, and I hope to be able to come back as a volunteer here.

I was contacted on 11/02/2020 advising me there was a new study taking place for psoriasis. I was told on this telephone call to stop using my usual steroid creams as this was a requirement for this study. I attended my first appointment a week later and signed some paperwork. I was again advised not to use my steroid creams. Another appointment was then made for me which should be occurring tomorrow. I have been contacted today, less than 24 hours in advance of this appointment and been told I am no longer required. I had already booked the day off work for this appointment. Also, due to not being able to use my usual steroid creams my skin has gotten into a terrible state. I have been caused serious discomfort for over a month and let down by this company last minute. I was put under the impression that my place on the study was secured hence why I stopped using my prescribed medication. I was not paid for my time or attendance at this initial consultation so I am now out of pocket, wasted my time and my skin is going to take months to recover. I have also lost a days leave at work. Would not recommend anyone to sign up for research with this company!
