I cannot praise the team at Abbey House Vet Hospital in Morley enough for the exceptional care they provided to my dog Penny during a very stressful time. My brother-in-law brought her in when I was out of town. I called ahead to give my details and insurance information, and from that moment I was treated with the utmost professionalism and empathy. The Vets, Nurses and Staff kept me fully informed at every stage of Penny's assessment and treatment. I received calls explaining the need for X-rays and scans, and ultimately, the incredibly relieving good news that no blockage was present, so no need for surgery. Their outstanding communication and genuine empathy were especially crucial for me, as I was in another country dealing with a very difficult family matter. They overcame the distance to ensure I felt fully informed and supported, which was truly remarkable. They didn't just treat Penny, they also supported me, understanding the extra worry I was carrying. It was clear how well-loved and looked after Penny was during her overnight stay. I genuinely found nothing that could have been handled better; their service was outstanding from start to finish. I highly recommend them to any pet owner.

We brought our dog in for swelling in his neck and were very disappointed with the care he received. Sedation was poorly handled, and a catheter and IV were only placed after I insisted. No proper examination was done, and they didn’t even check his mouth before pushing for an expensive CT scan and throat surgery. Their recommendation was based solely on a report from three months earlier, when our dog had a stick lodged in his throat. At that time, we were personally told by the vet who performed the CT that the wound had healed well and the scan was clear. Yet at this clinic, the staff ignored that confirmation, relied heavily on the old report, and insisted the swelling must be linked to leftover fragments. The vets here fixated on that old report, dismissed infection as a possible cause, and pressured us to agree to procedures they openly admitted they could not carry out themselves. We were initially told his blood tests were β€œgreat,” but later discovered they were abnormal and did show signs of infection. Communication throughout was cold and unsympathetic, and at one point, we were told they might not keep him overnight because of his behaviour, even if he required lifesaving medical care. How can a veterinary practice, the one place you should be able to trust that your animal is safe in, say such a thing? While I understand that my dog may be challenging, he deserves the basic decency of healthcare. My dog is not the only one who has a severe fear of the vets, and there should be protocols in place for animals like mine. Thankfully, antibiotics alone resolved the swelling, and our dog is now fully recovered without the invasive surgery they pushed for.

Went to Abbey House Vets for an emergency appointment. Staff were very helpful and reassuring saw the vet fairly quickly. I have a 7 year old Cockapoo called Jinny who unfortunately had had 2 fit like episodes earlier, she was very lethargic and her heart beat was rapid . bloods were taken and advice given re said episodes . Would highly recommend.

There’s a nurturing atmosphere throughout. The vets and nurses are very knowledgeable and patiently explained everything to us about our pets’ procedure. The receptionists are warm and friendly. Facilities like the separate waiting are for cats and Feliway-sprayed towels were such a lovely touch!

i've only ever been to abbey house for emergency treatment for my greedy pug but every time i've been the vets and reception staff have gone above and beyond with his treatment and care. it is always really clean in the clinic and the whole process is communicated extremely well. prices seem pretty reasonable and competitive too and the vets and reception staff are helpful when dealing with insurance claims too. the vets and reception staff are professional and kind (which is particularly appreciated when i am worried about my dog's health). i've always had excellent and speedy treatment with all tests, results, and treatments explained to me clearly. my dog is currently staying overnight due to pancreatitis and i know he is in safe hands and will be well cared for there. the vet (karen?) rang me first thing this morning after admitting my dog last night for an update on how he is doing and the expected next steps, which has put my mind at ease and allows me to get on with my day instead of worrying. the only vet i will go to now! photo of my dog feeling sorry for himself at abbey house (though he still gets excited to see the vets even after injections and blood tests, which says a lot about the care there!!)

It was a Sunday we needed an emergency vet, our kitten had chewed on a poisonous plant and was extremely ill. We were given this number and was very pleased with the whole experience. We were asked to come straight there. Reception staff lovely was seen promptly vet very caring and gentle fully explained what had happened and gave treatment we felt very reassured. We were surprised how reasonable the price was considering it was an emergency vet. The premises were very clean with separate areas to sit in. There was a free drinks machine. We were very pleased with the service we received.

This place is amazing. I rushed my little dog to the emergency hospital on Friday and the staff were so helpful. The lady behind the desk took daisy straight to the vet. The night vet who was looking after daisy was called Julie and she was incredible. She gave daisy a good examination and straight away knew she had a heart murmur, heart failure and fluid. She was hopeful she could remove the fluid and daisy was rushed into oxygen, I knew she was in safe hands. Julie explained what they were going to do that night and said she will call if anything happened. She kept to her word, she rung at 5:45 to inform us that daisy had sadly had a cardiac arrest and they tried there best to save her. Before this Julie had explained that I could call her in the morning and ask for her specifically so she could explain how daisy had been. They kept daisy wrapped up until I got there to say goodbye, she looked so peaceful. She had an amazing team with her when she passed. I will definitely be coming back here and as soon as I have finished my veterinary nursing I will apply here. Julie if you see this you are such an amazing vet and thank you ever so much to yourself and your team. Thank you abbey house for the card we received this morning xx
