I understand that large dogs seem dangerous, but they aren't. The vet was very frightened of my dog. Basic procedures, such as taking his temperature, cleaning the wound, and applying a collar, weren't performed.

Very clearly only in it for the money. My cat was struggling to use the toilet with spots of blood. As it was a Sunday my regular vet was closed and online advice told me this was an emergency situation. Called here to see if they would let me bring her of if they would recommend me wait till Monday and call my own vet. I live far away and didn't want to waste their time if it was a non emergency I could deal with through the night with some advice. The receptionist wasn't really interested in the issue just immediately said it's Β£200 as it's out of hours. A little less if I was regular. Then spent ages talking to herself attempting to find out which price I would pay before even being seen. No care or concern about an animal in need. Hopefully my pets schedule in any kind of illness in advance and avoid getting sick on the weekend. This is not the first time they have shown lack of care either. I had found a lost dog with no identification at around 6am on my way to work. All numbers and forms of contract for the dog warden wasn't going through and as this is the only vet open at that time I had no option but to call them. They told me I could bring the dog to them to scan. Β£40 taxi fare and on arrival they treated the situation like a massive inconvenience.

I’ve given three stars because the nurse who dealt with my cat who we brought in for Lilly poisoning was very passionate and tried to help us as best she could. Whilst the staff acted very quickly to save her life, and I’m extremely grateful to them, the people who decide the prices should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. At first we were told Β£200 for the consultation, then we arrived and the staff quickly rushed her into treatment (thank you!!) however as the night progressed the price increased to Β£500 then somehow to a whopping Β£2500, which had to be before discharge. In the consultation room I broke down because of the seriousness of her health and the realisation that she would die without this costly treatment, and the second realisation that we didn’t have the cash to pay it. We asked for a payment plan and they don’t provide this. I was told either she receives this treatment and we pay the fee or sign a form acknowledging the debt, or she goes into renal failure and dies. We felt we had no other choice, and we were preyed upon in a moment of vulnerability. After saying that we can’t afford that treatment, we were then advised to stay tonight for treatment, and then go to another vet which is not for profit and cheaper, for the next 48 hours of treatment. So we agreed on this, and were then told that treatment over the night was going to cost around Β£1000, with a half deposit to be paid before leaving that night. To just cover this treatment we had to split the deposit across two credit cards and then take out a loan overnight. Upon leaving we called the next vet to arrange bringing my girl in the morning, and were told the 48 hours of treatment would cost Β£719, compared to Β£1500 from Leeds emergency vet!!! We then asked out of curiosity how much it would have cost if we went to them straightaway, and were quoted Β£79!!! As opposed to Β£1000 for the night treatment. What was a traumatic event anyway, became worse when we were terrified at the thought of not being able to afford the life saving treatment. This is in no way a reflection of the nurses themselves, just the policy and process of treatment costs.

I had given an injured bird who was found to be well and unable to fly because it's a baby. Tried to call afterwards to find when I can collect the bird since they said it's fine and just a baby. Only to find out they put the phone down on me and haven't heard from the bird in many months. Called so many times to know about collecting the bird. Very rude and I don't know what they did to the bird. I can't trust this emergency. And the second time I sent another bird to help it, the same happened. A lot of people I know have said avoid this emergency because they either rip you off or put the animal down without telling you. Never take your pets here. Either take it to your local vet or any other emergency place.

Told us our dog was basically dying after he passed out from coughing, they said he was in heart failure. The emotional turmoil we endured that night was awful. Only to find out that day after he is going to be fine just needs some tablets for couple weeks. Now thankfully running around and being lazy as normal. Nobody should have to go to vets and be scared like we all was. Especially paying Β£150 for the pleasure.

185 pound for a vet to look at my dog for 5 minutes to be given a few tablets not including the flea treatment I asked for and when I went back in to ask why they wernt in with the other tablets I get snubbed at and told its should be on your invoice which miraculous disappeared.. definitely know how to charge and yes I understand vets are not cheap but they take full advantage of being the only vet open 24hrs. And to top it off my dog still has an eye infection

Took my elderly cat here after she suffered from a stroke and the staff were so helpful and kind, although she had to be put down everything was done with so much care and we were given as much time as we needed to recover, couldn’t recommend enough for emergency treatments

Can't recommend highly enough. We took our Cat Enid who was very distressed and in great pain late on a Saturday night. They reception staff were very calm and helpful on the phone. The vet was very caring and compassionate - although we had to let our girl go we are grateful she had the best care. Thank you so much.

Excellent care for our little chihuahua Minnie. We left our dying little girl in their care at 4am Saturday morning not knowing if she would pull through after emergency surgery at another vets on Friday night. Leeds Emergency Vets were fantastic and literally saved her life. You were professional, compassionate and kind. We really can’t thank you enough. Xx
