Managed to get most things that we needed for our forthcoming puppy. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Vast array of all things pets.
We had an appointment booked at 5 pm for dog grooming. We were supposed to take our dog to the funeral of our loved one that is why we needed to at least wash him. While driving there we got stuck in traffic (rush hour) and we called pets at home to let them know we would be 10 minutes late... CAREY/KERRY (unsure of the spelling) was the rudest person with no heart I have ever dealth with in a business. She said that she would only wait ten minutes otherwise she will refuse the service. We told her that google maps was saying we would get there at 5.12 and she repeated that she would only wait until 10 past. We begged her saying we had a funeral and we were desperate. If she could help us waiting those extra two minutes...or at least just wash the dog with no brushing or clipping nails and cleaning ears. She kept refusing and not caring about us... Saying that the slot was booked for a full dog grooming. Even though we only paid the deposit so she could have changed the booking. (Im a receptionist from London so I know how to change a booking). On that moment were were very upset as be literally begged a rude woman on the phone to evem just rinse the dog... We werent asking for her to stay 10 extea minutes at work but to just wash him...if that would make her easier for her. They also refused to give us back the deposit as she said she put us down as NO SHOW even though it was her refusing the service. I hope the phone call is recorded as you (management) can hear how she deals with the costumers that pay her salary. We will take further action and we will never use ANY PETS AT HOME every again. For you might be nothing as is just one less costumer. But the truth is that we have other animals, and we groom our dog and our dog is not even 2 years old so you will miss a whole decade and more years of us using your services, buying the pets food and items etc. We already started using other shops and chains. We will not recommend pets at home to friends and family. Awful experience. By the way the same night after that call I texted a local groomer and I explained that on the next day in the afternoon we needed to go to a funeral and they book us is in the morning for a full groom for only 35 pounds. The dog after over 2 weeks still smells lovely and they were very sweet and understanding. So yes I will never go back to your overprice rude service.
After printing a voucher out as was not sure about apps as im 68. the store refused to accept the print out and after coming home I contacted live chat with Julie L who told me I needed the app as it was in T&C. I wont be using store again as for anything then had to cheek to ask to me to leave a 5 * review
Always a pleasure to visit, my animals all love the vets and staff. They managed a family feel even though it is in the pets at home shop.
Lovely staff who have helped my rescue dog beyond words. She was scared of strangers due to past abuse and all the staff have being huge part in her recovery. Thank you for always being so patient and loving towards Frankie, a special shout out to Diana (Frankie always looks for you, you’ve definitely taken a special spot in Frankie’s heart), Jess, and Dale! Xx
Items I wanted were in stock . The only issue I had was the Butchers packs of 18 cans are all stacked up looking very nice but had to dismantle the display to get to the 3 packs of puppy food that I wanted
Was hectic staff unhelpful and person who served me was miserable didn't greet me or say hi was too busy talking to another worker. The shop was untidy and messy I asked for help and waited and no one came back amd found them busy talking to another worker at bottom of shop.. I was wanting to buy a dog bed which was on offer on the app but in store was showing full and the app said was valid another few days so when I asked the said they would query it and just went off talking to someone else after 15 mins and seeing there still stood with another worker joking about talking about the fact they was going out that evening I approached and she looked and said sorry she can't help and carried on. She hadn't even asked so I ended up walking out.. its the 3rd time I've experience bad staff in the store so won't be going back again.
Convenient store with a high range of products. Don't get your dog used to a brand though as they'll probably be out of stock when you go back. Staff are brill and are more than happy to weigh our dog when we walk in. Dog toys cost a lot but it's worth it as our dog did a wee on the floor once and they were straight on it with the mop.
Usually a good selection of wet dog food, but this time, maybe its down to Xmas, the selection was very limited and the type we usually buy just wasn't there. It's still a good pet shop, hopefully next time the brand we buy will be back.
Very helpful staff who gave me great advice on setting up a fish tank for temperate fish. They gave very helpful advice and when I returned to get the tank water tested they were great.
