I used to be a pupil here between 1968/1972, at that time it was called St Bedes, secondary modern, Catholic school, the space at the back of the playground was used for a prefabricated unit as they had raised the school leaving age, one of the famous pupils used to be Kenny Everett, when told by the head teacher he would never make anything of himself because he joked around to much, turned up a few years later with a BBC outside broadcast unit to record one of his kids shows at th e time called "NICE TIME" I have looked for the programme but sadly cannot find it.
