I’d like to thank Irving’s law for there total and professional handling of our claim against a nursing home for neglect. Our dear Dad was badly neglected at a care home in Cambridgeshire in 2022 he also had pressure sores whilst there, sadly he passed away in 2023. Irving’s were very thorough in obtaining extensive records/reports from his Dr, hospitals, professional medical staff and the nursing home. They never gave up and although it took 2 years to obtain an acceptable compensation payout, as at times we wasn’t hopeful at all of a successful outcome but Irwin’s were very proactive and determined to get us an agreeable settlement. Can’t thank you guys enough.

I am very pleased with the services provided by the Irvingslaw, especially Katrina Scott, who handled my case against the Police. Thanks to her professional approach and dedication, the case was won. Communication was very easy and she answered my questions very thoroughly. I fully recommend Irvingslaw.

Mathew McConville is not someone who can be trusted. He agreed to take a sensitive police negligence claim for my daughter but provided no meaningful communication between January to September 2025. We eventually found out that he requested a time extension from the police, stating that the parents were waiting to get a medical report. He never informed us of this nor asked us to get one. After wasting months of our time, he sent an email stating he wants to withdraw from the case. It seems his only aim was to get the Legal Aid money under my daughter's name and do absolutely nothing. Avoid this firm.

Made a fatal error after the previous experience with Yvonne who left and went to the Cps, this firm don’t care whatsoever about your anguish and pain when it comes to actions against the police. I pleaded with my solicitor Matt not to instruct a useless barrister named George Murray , yet he bullied me into accepting, if I didn’t accept him he would end my case . I foolishly succumb and felt I had no choice he knew this barrister messed up my former case , stating no prospects. I feel utterly betrayed and had to go elsewhere . Matt did not have the decency to return a call and apologise for the upset . I requested a subject access a while ago and am still waiting I hope the ICO fine Irving’s law . Thankfully there is good firms who understand what this upset does and have offered to assist and have much better chambers than Liverpool civil that this cowboy firm yes who wants a barrister who messes up your first case ? Why he chose George Murray after I wrote a bad review on his chambers, Murray used this opportunity to exert his revenge for firing him via satchel and Moran previously from another case .Cant stand him yet Matt mcconville insisted he was the only one. I cannot wait to read what he claims two barristers have said, ruined my weekend with my nieces. I am beyond betrayed by a firm who I foolishly presumed would put my best interests first. Please never instruct this firm they will let you down and cause major upset, when it comes to your children it makes me even worse. Worst firm I have encountered! Avoid Irving’s law at all costs only care about money and using useless barristers no one has ever heard of. George Murray what high profile case has he ever won ? Zero

I approached Irving's law in late 2021 after I had been arrested in what I felt was a clear unlawful arrest, I am an ex police officer so for me it was clear the arrest should have never happened. 2 investigations into my arrest were found to have been lawful despite admissions by the police that the arresting officer didn't understand her grounds for arrest and police "losing" body camera footage due to it being deleted after 30 days. Matthew Mcconville took on my case and was satisfied early on that he could not only win but was confident it would not go to court. He took it on no win no fee. Due to me making a complaint against police this dragged everything out, I should have not made a complaint which would have allowed Matthew to get involved sooner. Once the 2 complaint investigations were finalised finding my arrest lawful Matthew was then able to act. Very quickly Matthew was able to get the cctv of my arrest despite at this point the police saying it was deleted many months previously if not years. Cctv and custody procedure clearly showed my arrest was unlawful and detention had some questionable issues. Matthew through disclosure was able to get crime reports unedited, where by in the police complaints no mention was made. The disclosure showed not only did a detective Sargent question whether there was veracity to the complaint made, but made mention of waiting for a complaint statement to re assess. Disclosure also showed police questioned within hours prior to my arrest whether they should be arresting or waiting for a statement and finally after arresting with no statement of complaint for an allegation that could have been carried out as a voluntary attender Matthew was able to find the detective who investigated me after receiving the "victims" statement over 20 days post bail from police station the DC commented there was no evidence of any offence and any contact with the victim related directly to family court proceedings and was not harassing or threatening before bail being cancelled the day after. Without Matthew as an ex cop who knows the law I would never have got any of that information that was hidden from me. The force in question failed to either respond or answer questions in full and were dismissive of my case from day one. Once Matthew had got all the evidence together the case was registered in the civil courts and the force was served. The force had up to this point for 4 years denied my claim, refused to settle and made a point of seeking costs against me personally (as is their right in law) if I took the case further. Within 3 weeks of the case registered for proceedings to go ahead the force in question who hadn't really engaged for some time wrote to Matthew asking for 2 further weeks to consider settling out of court. The following week after some quick negotiations I settled with the force for a 5 figure sum and the force also paying my legal fees (Matthew's costs and expenses). Put simply I am an ex police officer and despite all the evidence I had I could not have won this without Matthew, from day one he said he would win and he did, he said he would unlikely go to court and likely get a settlement out of court and he did. Matthew got evidence that was hidden from me and forced the police into disclosure that they would not have given me hiding behind "protection of a victim". Matthew did everything he said he would and got me again a 5 figure settlement for roughly 21 hours in custody and handcuffing and some Trauma as a result. I cannot praise Matthew enough, I've spoken with many ex cops who have now gone to Matthew also and I know of an ex colleague who entered into settlement negotiations in the last few weeks also because of Matthew (I won't comment for obvious reasons on this case). Matthew really knows code G of pace to the point he had me doubt how many arrests I've made previously were lawful! I recommend everyone go to Matt, I further recommend if you're a serving or ex cop you 150% need to go to Matt. I cannot praise this guy enough

Had a data breach claim that dragged on for years, no fault of Irving Laws and they were great. Kept me informed, communicated regularly, gave clear instructions and advice and even waived their fee at the end when I got the compensation. Cannot fault them. Excellent service .

I contacted Irving’s Law after a serious data breach which meant I had to immediately leave my home. Matt contacted me and reassured me he would support and seek compensation. After speaking to him, I knew I was in good hands. He won my case for me and was an absolute professional throughout. Thank you! If you have a data breach claim that needs resolving then Irving’s are the solicitors for you.

I only have positive things to say about the way Matthew McConville of Irvings Law handled my data breach claim against my local council. He answered all of my concerns, from the outset through to the successful conclusion, clearly and in an easy to understand manner. There was no pressure for me to make any decisions quickly and I was given all of my available options in detail to help me make informed decisions. Matthew called or emailed me at every milestone in my case, keeping me updated on a regular basis. He responded to all of my email queries the same day, and was successful in agreeing a compensation award within a few weeks of submitting our claim. I can 100% recommend Irvings Law.
