I've recently been traveling to many of the green spaces around North Birmingham in search of wildlife. Although this is a small country park, the abundance of wildlife is there to see. Today I have Blackcap, Long Tailed Tit, Buzzard, Whitethroat, Parakeets, Chiffchaffs (all in my photos) other birds I have seen on my walk include, Goldfinches, Robins, Wrens, Blue Tits, Great Tits, Magpies, Crows and I heard that a muntjac deer was seen today as well. Newhall Valley Country Park is a hidden paradise in an urban area.

Beautiful place to go for a walk especially with your dogs, enjoyable walks and trails, plenty of bins for rubbish and dog poop, clean and tidy area kept well, also good for children and cyclists, nice stream to follow and paddle in for the dogs on warm days

Nice area and place, easy access to the location and parking was available also. Lovely place for dogs and casual walks. Would definitely recommend for dog walking. Also accessible for those in wheelchairs or with pushchairs. Only downside was park was not maintained as well as could be, lots of long grass, muddy verges etc which could be better looked after.

I was here today with my Mrs and two kids. My kids enjoyed everything about it, the streams, canals, wooden paths and the wildeness of it all. They kept asking whether I was enjoying too. My answer was affirmative, but I enjoy much more on the second, third visits because I get to explore it in full. Don't miss this great walking in wonderful and well maintained park. Well done to the amazing work the volunteers do to this park.

This is my favourite local place. It covers 198 acres of green belt countryside, through Pype Hayes, Walmley, Wylde Green and Sutton Coldfield. It is an important nature reserve consisting of historic wetland grazing meadows, Plants Brook stream and a number of listed buildings, including the first moated house built in England and a fully functioning water mill. Plenty of well kept paths to enjoy and lots of nature to see. Been visiting here for many years but 2020 is the first year, I have been able to see the fish so clearly, swimming in the brook. Wonderful ❤
