Really friendly and helpful. Requires modernisation however was clean and tidy. Personally I was disappointed there was no where to plug my hair devices. Deal breaker for me.

Staff were rude not professional at all!! We booked small children pool however They booked us in wrong long pool lane for my kids 3 and 5 year old who can not swim and they insisted that itβs suitable for them we found itβs was dangerous we left pool immediately! When we explained and tried speak with the receptionist and duty manger they were not listening to our concerns that our children canβt swim we booked a small pool not a long one! They said itβs our fault we should know which pool we book thatβs not right we asked for small pool for kids and if the small pool were CLOSED we should of been told but instead they booked us wrong pool and put our kids in danger the manager she over reacted!!

The gym is in the basement and spread across a few connecting rooms. There are mirrors on the walls, so you can see around and behind you, which is better than staring at a blank wall when you're on the treadmill, etc. It is well-equipped for a small, old council gym (better than Fearnville, for example). The air con seemed to me to be at the wrong end of the gym - near the entrance with the weights, when it would be more use over the cardio equipment. The changing facilities are for both swimming and the gym, so the floors are wet, and unfortunately also dirty, old and cold; plus the showers aren't hot, so I would skip that if I go again - it was basically a race to get dry and clothes on as fast as possible. I used a Hussle pass, but swimming times here are really limited - the timetable is full of classes, kids' lessons and "staff training" (an empty pool). Strangely, the receptionist asked to see ID when I gave my Hussle code - never had that before and no idea why she needed it (?). If you're buying one-off swim/gym sessions, buying through Hussle is a lot cheaper (the council's crazy logic).

Itβs a local authority-run leisure centre so donβt expect anything flashy. The changing rooms always look tired, but theyβre kept pretty clean. Swimming lessons are always running to time and the teachers and staff are all great. Parking is never a problem (apart from on Saturday mornings if thereβs football on!).

Good selection of toys for the kids to play with in the pool. Could do with modernisation, changing rooms dated. Quite pricey for a council run pool in my opinion and the lady on reception didn't seem happy to be working on a Sunday!

I recently visited this leisure center and overall, the swimming pool was enjoyable. However, I was very disappointed to find that the womenβs changing room was invaded by young boys, not just one or two, but several! It felt intrusive and inappropriate as it is a private space for females.

Does a job but needs a renovation. It needs a better gym, better changing facilities and something similar to the one at holt park

Poor experience! Came here to use the last swim session (Lane swim, Friday evening 8 - 8.45pm) I arrived at 8.15 and went to pay and said that they had already cashed up! So it was really nice of them to let me in for free. Realising I hadn't any money for my locker they said that couldn't give me any change because they had cashed up!! They did offer me a bag to put my things in and leave at poolside. To be honest I felt uncomfortable doing that and I had trouble understanding why they simply couldn't give me a pound. The conversation did get a bit heated and they shown me a poster saying that they dont except verbal, threatening or abuse!! Don't think they liked my views or opinions!! In hindsight I probably did overeat!! From what I could see everything else looked good. Drinks and snack machines, changing area clean and showers worked and we're good. Pool was at a comfortable temperature.

This is your 90's old-school sports centre so don't expect anything fancy. I find it invokes nostalgia! Everything works well and staff seem friendly. I like it as it's small, not rammed full of people and has everything you need- pool, gym, and limited classes. Weights area is tiny and presents somewhat of a safety hazard- too small an area for the amount of equipment in the space. You can just about manage a deadlift in the space. The gym floor could do with expansion but I don't think it's in the pipeline.
