A great walk to an isolated stone ruin. Excellent vistas and captures the sense of isolation from the inspired literature. Amazing to think of the life styles of the people who worked this land, so far from everything. The walk is easy, but exposed so make sure you are prepared.
Beautiful walk, very windy and the rain made the uphill trek difficult, but the feeling when you reach top withins is unmatched
We walked up from the waterfall through what I assume to be lots of colourful autumnal gorse (which I loved), watching Top Withens grow slowly closer. Such a sad and lonely ruin, and yet very commanding and impactful. Indescribable moment to have made it, though I was secretly miffed we'd missed the thunderstorm the day before. What's risking a bit of death in the name of the Gothic? :p We were lucky to have some time with it alone before others had shown up, but it was sweet there being so many of us who had a special connection with the Brontës. Pretty sure the trees were whispering secret magical things amongst themselves too :p Only negative was the idiot shooting squad we saw on our way back. Killing living creatures shouldn't be fun, get a therapist.
Walked up to Top Withens from the parsonage car park at 07:00. Beautiful calm easy walk, met a few Walkers up there. Passed Brontë falls on the way. So quiet up there that you can sit and enjoy the rain, sun or wind in solitude. Signs are new and easy to follow. Loved it!

Amazing scenery but I did this walk in 30 degree heat. I ended up with sun stroke. Please don't try this in extreme heat. I found out the hard way.
Not for the faint of heart if walking from Haworth! Not dramatically long in distance, but there’s lots of elevation and inclines which can be exhausting in the heat, or slippery in inclement weather. Pack plenty of fluids, but it’s so worth it. A lovely walk through quintessential Brontë Country, with Top Withins always visible in the distance like a beacon. There’s also routes and paths from Stanbury although I’ve never walked them myself.
Gorgeous hike with stunning views of the surrounding Yorkshire hills, we walked a circular loop from Haworth via Stanbury. Sometimes labeled an easy walk, but really is more of a moderate one. Reasonable distance with some strenuous sections. Personally would not attempt during or after rain, too dangerous!
Excellent place to experience the untamed, beautiful, and indifferent moors. Perfect to sit and contemplate how this environment influenced the writings of Emily Bronte.
Spectacular views across the countryside towards the Bronte Falls. Simply beautiful and worth the trek to the top. The Park workers do a great job of ensuring safety and access.
