   I went to the pool for fun session and stopped by the Cafe on the ground floor next to the pool entrance. Ordered 2 x decaf oat flat white, paid £8.60, double checked with the staff the milk to be “oat” to make sure. Coffee arrived, I smelled and tasted cow milk. I am dairy intolerant and have a very sensitive palate to dairy taste, so I was sure the coffee was made with cow milk, not oat. I took the coffees to the barista who made and delivered our coffee, and he said he was certain that he made our coffee with Oatly. I didn’t want to argue further, took them back to the table, tasted a little bit more, but I still tasted dairy. Me and my partner didn’t drink them and wasted money and felt annoyed. Well, I guess that either the barista lied about it, or he used the unwashed jug that he previously used for cow milk, because I am also certain that I tasted dairy in my coffee. I rarely leave a negative review to any business, I rather say nothing when I personally didn’t like the place, but today, I decided to leave a review about my experience, so that any mistake made from a staff could be improved for their future customers.

   A little dated in areas but the facilities are good for the money, friendly atmosphere especially in the gym. Great place for casual workout.

   Web site says open until 8pm. Arrived 11.35 to be told session was ending at 12. Next session 12.30. I also rang before leaving but it was an answer machine that is not always answered at weekends. Opening times for the pools are very variable so up to date information would be helpful.

   I come every other week with my daughter to go swimming and have no problem with staff at all. However, today we were greeted in a very unprofessional manner by the reception staff. My wife asked for our usual tickets for swimming but was met by the news that the pool was fully booked, which we accepted and waited by the door to figure out what else we could do with our six year old daughter (who was extremely disappointed by this point) We noticed another little girl coming in with her father to be disappointed with the news so my daughter gave her a cuddly toy. This family then proceeded to be let into the swimming pool by reception staff member Sue. While we were stared at and shrugged off. My wife and I were filled with disgust and disappointment as we saw no hint of them giving us the same option. We caused no scene and left after asking for Sues name. We hope that it was not ageist or racially motivated but can’t help but feel that it was as we are a younger mixed race family. These are the only differences between the father and daughter who were welcomed in and us. It would be great if somebody could speak to us about it and explain the motives behind the situation. Thank you.
