A wonderful expanse of reclaimed parkland revealing, 'The Heart of the Dearne', with just a small car parking facility. Designed with numerous circular walks, offering both flat and inclined walks and cycling. The park displays many pieces of local stone & metal sculpture artwork, to honour the historical past of the former coal mining and farming culture of the Dearneside area. The park also includes a large free standing stone climbing wall for the more energetic athletic types to enjoy. Several benches tend to be positioned on the higher ground, to rest & enjoy the uninterrupted panoramic views of the area, and wooden tables to enjoy a picnic on the flatter area’s. Phoenix Park is a truly beautiful peaceful place, great for both kids and the young at heart to enjoy the fresh air and open countryside.

Walked round here on my Birthday in March. Never knew it was there before finding it on google maps It is a lovely walk and we didn't get to do it all. The layout is great, with a mixture of paths and woods.

Be prepared if you are walking dogs. Poo bins are in the car park so, you will need to carry those bags for a while.

Very nice walk and an enjoyable place to visit. Situated on the old Hickleton Main pit. There are numerous benches about should you wish to take a breather. There are also plenty of things for the kids to do also. Cycles are permitted so all in all its a very nice peaceful walk. Enjoy.

Great place for walking, I go regularly as I live within walking distance and its always very quiet, usually just a few people walking their dog. Nice views of Thurnscoe Reservoir, Hickleton village, Adwick Washlands and the Goldthorpe parish church. I also attached some pictures of it in better weather as the weather wasn't the best last time I went

There is a really small carpark, which we managed to squeeze into. Really nice place, there are walking trails to follow or you can give your own way, little one chose which paths to go and I followed. Paths were still wet and muddy, from the day before; with that white, clay kind of mud that's hard to wash out of clothes. We tried to see all the sculptures, not sure if we did but they're awesome. We didnt see all of the park as it's so big but what we did see was lovely
