Worst supermarket in Wakefield! Stood at self serve all on red and only 1 person on kiosk who was in no rush and didn’t call anyone. Must have been 10 people waiting. I dropped a basket and left. This place needs closing down and another replacing it. It’s been like this for years. Overpriced and understaffed.

What an amazing coop worker!!! Uber messed my order up and didn’t deliver and I was furious but when I called Leanne she handled the call with amazing customer service and even though the Uber driver wouldn’t deliver, Leanne went out of her way to get me my shopping by delivering it herself after her shift was over! Leanne is a credit to Coop and should be recognised because she truly went above and beyond to resolve the issue that Uber had made happen. Huge thank you from me Leanne, thanks Nicki ☺️

Overpriced, poor quality food and understaffed. You’d be better off stealing a basket full of food per week as they allow them to come and go as they please. Meanwhile its customers pay the price of their incompetence. Needs closing down and changing to a Lidl or small Morrisons and good riddance to the co-op

Everything you’d expect from a co-op…. clean & tidy, easy to navigate, varied range of both own and branded products. Polite, helpful & friendly staff. Has an ATM, Evri parcel drop & Amazon lockers amongst other third-party services. They recently introduced the Starship robot delivery service which seems to be working really well. Staffed and self-service checkouts available. Ample free parking. As it’s a local supermarket prices are slightly higher than the larger city supermarkets, but there’s always a deal to be had, especially if you use your co-op members card.

Shelves & fridges always seem to be empty recently, regularly having to go elsewhere to get staple items.

It’s a good sized store with a great range of products but has a couple of significant problems that could be fixed. Even at busy times it’s rare an actual manned checkout will be open, occasionally yes but not frequently enough. They rely on self service checkouts but in my experience a high percentage of people are buying alcohol and a member of staff has to come and authorise each transaction so customers are left waiting and queues are common. They also sell a good range of refrigerated alcoholic drinks but they are never cold. Either the units are not set cold enough or the sliding doors (which don’t close properly) let all the cold out. I have emailed Co-op customer service about this but didn’t get a reply. If these two issues were fixed, and they easily could be, then it would be a first class store for the community.

Such a reliable, great shop! Admittedly, prices do tend to be a bit higher than i.e. Sainsbury's, and definitely ALDI, but I don't think I've ever had a poor piece of fruit, veg or meat from here, and it's all British produce. If you get the Co-op app, you get great offers every week and save money each time you shop.

Getting staff to serve you here is a major task - most are ‘busy’ stacking already well stocked shelves, whilst queues of 5 or 6 customers wait to pay at a kiosk counter and all tills remain closed. The kiosk counter ‘bagging area’ has be accessed under a barrier making it difficult to pack a bag that the staff member could’ve done more easily for you, instead of looking at you struggle. Similarly with the tills, when manned by staff, your shopping is quickly flung to the bagging area so they can observe you scramble to bag your (overpriced) purchases. Presumably so they can get back to not serving customers. Whoever manages this store needs a sharp kick up the arse, or firing.

The staff are very nice, however they need more of them. I waited at the self service check out for nearly five minutes to have some items approved. The man who was serving at the cigarette counter had to do this for me and he already had a long queue of customers.
