I saw that a Syrian lamb kofta kebab with chips was £9, so I ordered that alongside some tea. The tea arrived and it smelled amazing, so I had 3-4 of the mini-glasses full. The service was excellent and attentive from one lady who was happy to offer details about the different sauces for the kebab and chips. I really enjoyed the dark red sauce which apparently takes 2 days to make! The kebab was delicious, and accentuated with the sauces. The chips were perfectly cooked, so much so, I called my colleague who was passing by the restaurant and she came into Damascus and stole a few of my chips! I could sit anywhere I wanted and chose near the window, the chairs were very comfy. I was full and didn't have time to eat the salad which was included and tasty. I recommend this dish and tea to anyone who isn't vegetarian in Preston. I'm sure they will have alternatives for you. Have a look yourself? Excellent place in Preston.

Beatiful restaurant. Very good service. And very tasty food. Loved it everybit. Will recommend to everyone. I had lamb mandi. And chicken kofta. Which tasted awsome. Mint tea was also beautiful

We’ve visited this place over 50 or 60 times, and the chicken mandi has always been consistently good. The lamb mandi, however, can be a bit inconsistent at times. Still, the staff are lovely and welcoming, and we’ll definitely be visiting again.

We recently tried damascus and were impressed by the food overall. The flavours were rich and authentic remindinh us very much of Syria. The chicken was especially well-prepared, soft, tender, well marinated and delicious. The kabsa was tasty too but the rice could definitely be improved. Instead of the fragrant Arab flavoured basmati rice you’d expect, it tasted more like fajita-style Mexican rice which took away from the authenticity a little. Still, the overall flavours were excellent and very enjoyable. Where the experience really fell short was in the service. Our server, a young lady, skipped out on bringing most of the sides that were included with the meal although she acknowledged they’d be brought out when we ordered our food. When we asked about them, she insisted multiple times that they weren’t part of the order and at one instance, that we wouldn’t like it: until we showed her the menu. These sides are traditional, and we love having them with our meals, so it was disappointing that she refused to bring them at first. To make matters worse, when we ordered takeaway, we didn’t receive what we had paid for. Instead of getting two shawarmas as ordered, we were only given one of the larger ones priced double, which left us feeling shortchanged. Overall, the food itself was excellent and full of flavour. But the service issues, especially being denied sides that are part of the traditional experience really impacted our visit. With more attentive and accurate service, this could easily become a go-to spot for fantastic Syrian food.

A truly excellent meal at The Damascus. The grilled fish was cooked to perfection, and the vibrant selection of mezze was incredibly fresh and flavourful. Every dish felt authentic and was bursting with taste. A fantastic experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for genuine Middle Eastern cuisine.

Visited on the recommendation from someone else who had visited recently. The food was delicious, plentiful, and freshly cooked. It was very nicely presented. You can see into the kitchen, and it was well laid out and organised, looked lovely and clean. Prices were very good for the portion sizes. Staff were wonderful. Happy to help, but not hanging about you. We will be back!

Me and my family had evening meal here and really enjoyed it. We shared a selection of vine leaves, tabouli, chicken livers and a mixed grill. All the food was fresh and tasty. The meat was coal cooked and tasted great, smokey and succulent. The tabouli portion was a little small but all other dishes generous and the livers and the mixed grill were very very nice. All in all a lovely meal and we will return. Service is great, the waitress friendly and helpful. The restaurant is quite busy with a lovely relaxed vibe.

Have to say the food here was amazingly delicious, we had the platter for two with a portion of lamb chops, and the chips have to be the best I've had in a while not dipped in loads of marinade or sauce like other places. The kebabs were out watering, amazing taste and also the rice and sauces. No disappointment here. Seating was very good and the staff were very polite. Thank you, will definitely recommend to eat here.
