I engaged Elver Consultancy for five years (2019–2025). If you are looking for a strategic partner to help your business grow, I cannot recommend this firm. 1. Lack of Advisory: The service was entirely reactive. I found myself having to research standard tax efficiencies (such as pension contributions, dividends etc) myself and bring them to the accountant. I expected professional guidance; instead, I received basic compliance processing. If you do not ask the specific question, the advice is not volunteered - a handicap for new businesses. 2. Values & Loyalty: After five years of uninterrupted payments, I was disengaged shortly before my company year-end. The reason provided in writing was a "desire to work with clients that are profitable for us". Prospective clients should be aware that loyalty holds little weight here compared to their internal margins. 3. Administrative Clarity: The billing administration was opaque. Monthly invoices listed generic "Annual Accounts" without date references. Upon disengagement, it was revealed these payments were 12 months in arrears—a crucial financial detail that was never made transparent on the primary documentation - only 5 years later when they told me they weren't going to do my end of year business accounts.
My company is extremely happy and pleased with the service provided by Elver Consultancy. Things are done always on time with their Xero integration and their accounting portal is very easy to use. We tried other "old school "accounting firms before and they are definitely way more backward than Elver. Also we are very pleased to have our account handled by April Ascroft. A++ team.
