I have 7 dogs registered with David at the moment. I find him very trustworthy. He's has years of experience & knows what he's talking about. I wouldn't dream of using another vet.

I’ve been using David for many years with my pets, cats, dogs and African Pygmy Hedgehog. He’s absolutely amazing - he will do anything and try anything to help the animal in need, some of the stuff he’s done for my pets has simply been amazing! And he’s not all about the money either like some vets - I’ve only ever used 2 other vets when it’s been emergency’s and both times the experiences have been appalling! Never had any issues with the ladies in reception, always been very accomadating and helpful. But never had a bad experience once with David. Thank you for everything so far.

This practise is disgusting! I rang up yesterday to ask about prices for euthanasia and cremation for my dog as unfortunately i couldn't afford to take her to her vets! There was no issues to the lady I spoke to yesterday morning! When I rang up a couple of hours later to double check everything prices and the individual cremation, It was a different lady I spoke to and she was very snotty! She asked me "well why isn't she going to her own vets" and told me that the other girl didn't know it was going to potentially be an issue to bring my dog there as they didn't do it for someone who wasn't a client! It was a difficult decision I had to make with my first dog of 15 years! Let alone to be spoken to like trash! I wasnt going to ring them to let them know something had been sorted as why would i want to after being spoken to like that but my partner told me to ring just to let them know!! But even when I rang them up to say that I'm taking her somewhere else I was given snottiness of "Right okay" Absolutely no need! Thank God I've never needed this practise and I certainly never will!!

If you want to be fawned over in a luxurious waiting room with coffee on the go then this place isn't for you. But if you want a vet with years of experience, who doesn't immediately see the £ signs flashing in his eyes the moment you enter the treatment room, then you can't go far wrong with Mr Eccles. Yes, he IS direct and has a no-nonsense air, but he does genuinely provide the most basic function you want from a vet - which, for me, is to diagnose the ailment and administer the most appropriate treatment, not milk it for all its worth. I can understand what people mean about the ancillary staff...sometimes they do come across as a bit abrupt to be fair, but if you want platinum customer service you pay platinum prices and Mr Eccles probably keeps his running costs low to ensure he keeps his treatment prices reasonable. Training courses, management consultants and team building away-days all cost £££, which inevitably gets passed onto the customer. As long as my dogs are getting the best veterinary care from a genuine, experienced vet, I can put up with a bit of abruptness from the background artists.

Reception need educating on customer service. I’ve never experienced anything like it in my life. Rang up today to enquire about registering my daughter’s horse with them. Straight away the receptionist said that they aren’t taking on any more animals. I tried to explain that quite a few horse on our yard already have David and thought it would be more convenient for us. She asked where I live and when I said, again she refused saying it of of his area even though he comes already on a regular basis. She then asked what vet we have already and again dismissed me saying that that he will not take on another vets clients. Why ask these questions if she wasn’t going to do anything anyway. No matter what I said she didn’t want to know. God help anyone trying to register but to be honest with that attitude I wouldn’t want to be with them anyway. How can a business survive with that type of service is beyond me.

Took my cat here in August as he couldn't walk on his paw and was crying in pain. The vet took one look at him and didn't want to know, he said "he's just feeling sorry for himself" gave us a dose of antibiotics and sent him on his way that night he passed away. Absolute waste of time would not in a million years would I ever take any of my other animals to this vet lack of compassion, do not recommend to anyone.

Never spoken to the vet himself but his reception staff need educating on custom services. We contacted this vets last year after requiring a puppy and went to this vets as it was highly recommended, but unfortunately at the time we where in the middle of the pandemic and we where told they weren’t taking on any new customers with the current problems which was understandable. But rang up today to try and register him now the COVID restricts have eased and again told no as he was already registered at a vets, when I explained we weren’t happy with the treatment we where receiving from one of the large commercial vets companies. The receptionist showed no sympathy at all and wouldn’t listen to what I had to say. Pity the receptionist are not as professional as the vet they work for.

David's priority is always the welfare of the animal, as opposed to emptying your purse or wallet with needless medication. All of my dogs have always been registered at this practice and I wouldn't take them anywhere else. An honest and straight talking vet.

Today I lost my little dog who I have owned for 17 years. I phoned the surgery and the person that answered (who i later found was a nurse) was very abrupt and didn't show any compassion at all. David on the other hand has always been very caring and the animals welfare is paramount.
