Approached Gemma in order to get some tax assistance. Due to my work pattern we organised to have an appointment on a Saturday which was initially very helpful of her to do. I arrived for the appointment at 10:00am, office closed, I waited until 10:30. I called Gemma and she did not reply until half an hour later when she advised "she had slept in", and apologised. Initially this seemed quite unprofessional but we all have lives so who am I to judge. We rearranged for 12 (noon) so Gemma had time to clean herself up and get down to the office. I returned at 12:00 and waited until 12:30, no one arrived, no one called or emailed me and I have had no contact since. I tried to call the office today and the number is now "unavailable". I've never had this kind of experience before with a professional in the industry, and I hope I never have to again. A simple apology would have been good enough. I've opted for another accountant who I hope has the aptitude to show up to appointments.

Avoid at all costs. My employer used this accountant, and it resulted in us all being massively underpaid and our pensions all going missing. Payments were late every single month, despite her having 10 days to sort the payments. She now is refusing to offer any explanation or rectify the issue, and has cost hard-working people hundreds of pounds through no fault of their own. Communication skills are terrible, as well as her accountancy skills by the looks of it. Find another accountant or do it yourself.
