*** Jane Austen Private Tour *** My husband is a super fan of Jane Austen and he read all her books. I booked this private tour mostly for him and he loved every moment. To my surprise, I also had a fantastic time and to an extent, the tour had exceeded our expectations. So, even if you are not a super fan and did not read all her books like me, you will also enjoy this tour especially with our driver/guide Christian. Christian arrived promptly with his very clean van. He was very courteous, pleasant, highly personable, and humorous. He got to know us quickly and he learned of our interests. This was helpful in gauging his planning and pacing of the tour. While driving in London, Christian showed us the neighborhood with celebrities homes. The Jane Austen's house was amazing with great displays about her legacy. We bought her books and postcards with illustrations of each book as souvenirs. Her brother's inherited home was pretty with amazing ground. Her church was small but sacred. Her resting place at Winchester Cathedral was incredible and historic. Christian was a great guide in walking us through these sites and he shared great background and history of the sites. The drive to the countryside was breathtaking while we absorbed the calming scenery around us. Christian put a personal touch in pacing our tours. He was flexible in letting us do a 'grab and go lunch' (versus a sit down at a restaurant) to maximize the time for sightseeing and picture taking. When driving back to London, we shared with Christian that this tour was not just for Jane Austen's fans. We greatly appreciated the history, background, and the stunning views along the way. We booked three private tours with Tailored Tours and we were highly satisfied. The owner had superb communication and follow-up skills. He worked very well with us in planning our tailored itineraries. We greatly enjoyed Christian as our driver/guide and we really liked his personable style. We highly recommend Tailored Tours and Christian as your driver/guide for the private tours!

Had the best private tour to Stonehenge, Bath and the Cotwolds a few weeks ago. The weather couldn't have been better and Ozzy got us there right at the beginning when it wasn't crowded. It was truly remarkable. We were a family of 4, two of which were children. The history and in depth detail that Ozzy offered made all the difference. We knew the basics around everything but not the whole story and he also took the time in Bath to show us where Bridgerton was filmed, our toddler is named after one of the characters. The additional add on of the Cotswold was really cool to see as well seeing I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and just seeing the countryside was beautiful. I am thrilled to be able to refer all my clients here for their private tours in London. Personable, safe, helpful, and just great to talk to. When we find ourselves back in London we will be booking again.

We had a top notch day outing with our guide and driver, Oz. We got tickets based on his recommended timings at Stonehenge and Bath and it worked out pretty well. We enjoyed Stonehenge the most as we were almost the first in line, and was able to get some alone time with the site before a group of rowdy high school kids came along. Oz was also very knowledgeable and was able to give so much commentary on the origins of the Stonhenge, Woodhenge and some of the surrounding sites. He was not able to accompany us into the Roman Baths, but the audio guide was good enough. He did take us to all the fantastic sites in Bath (with references to Netflix series and moves that was shot there). It really was a wonderful town, beautiful (makes me wanna move there). Then onto Cotsworld (Castle Coombe) where the snow on the ground really made the village wonderfully Christmas-y. It was also quite fortuitous to have booked with Oz as the rail strikes were happening that time, and he was able to drop us off at a Tube station en route back to London for us to get to our dinner location. Really fantastic tour with Oz.

We traveled as a family with our 6 yr old and 8 yr old and all had a wonderful time! The tour went far beyond our expectations and was tailored to our needs. From the pick-up at our apartment to drop off at the end of the day, everything was executed with professionalism and care. We felt more like friends than customers, as we were with Oz or another guide for 7 days experiencing all the different tours. You will be selling your British experiences short if you do not sign up for a tour with Oz and the gang. If you are traveling with children don't forget to ask to see a 'monkey nut' and get the English definition of a 'trump'.

Stop! Don't look at other tour companies but Tailor tours!!!! A true 5 stars tour company that takes quality as their operating standards rather than quantity of locations! If you don't like the hop on hop off experience look no further!!! You will not be disappointed!!! What an amazing tour Mr Oz had with us. We did 3 locations and started the tour at 430am. The sunrise at wood henge and stonehenge is simply truly amazing. They are not just rocks as many people will say. The beauty of the landscapes, the natural beauty is a must see. Mr oz is the owner so we got to talk a lot about the how private tours ran. A lot of the tour company will just sell you many many locations, and just be hop on and hop off the bus. Mr oz let us spend time in each of the locations and told us many historical facts and interesting things about the places. Since he has a history degree, he taught us many things we didn't know as well as old English sayings. Stonehenge: ask for the inner circle so you get to go into the stones but need to special arrange since they will only let 30 people in. Check with them. But it is a truly exciting experience to see rock up close and not just take a pic and go. Bath: we lucky to head in Roman bath early. There wasn't a lot of people before 11. So go early. It is a must see. The audio guide is great and the city itself is amazingly beautiful. Wish we had a day to see the city and soak in hotspring. Next time. Cotswolds/Lacock: very very cute little town with cute houses. A few harry potter film locations. Very cute town. Overall, the quality of the trip is great. He talked and answered a lot of my 9 year old questions and kept us entertain so it was not a just a driver trip. He is a true tour guide. He even went above and beyond. He helped us pick up our tix to christ church the next day which was truly great!. Appreciate all his history, help, and knowledge. We will be back soon. And do another wonderful awesome tour with you! For anyone looking to book a tour. Look no further !!! Join Tailor Tours and promise you won't just get a driver. You will get a true tour guide and a friend.

Thanks to the expert planning communication with Sam, we were punctually collected at our hotel and transported by van for our day out with Oz. The day felt more like a meet up with a new friend than a tour. We learned and laughed throughout the day. Oz's suggestion of “Tiny Tim’s Tearoom” in Canterbury proved to be the perfect spot for lunch prior to exploring Canterbury Cathedral and the city. Sharing his knowledge of the Battle of Britain at the Memorial, Oz illuminated a piece of history - with color - that we non-Brits found fascinating and his knowledge of the history of Leeds Castle and Lady Baillie added an extra layer to the visit to a beautiful castle and grounds. At the end of it all, I can’t remember if Oz is a "Man of Kent" or a "Kentish man", but what I will not forget is his interest in etymology, his easy going style and flexibility and his history teacher background. We highly recommend working with this top notch duo.

We aren't normally the type of family to book a private tour but with 5 of us the value was very reasonable. We saw so much more with these guys than we would have done on a public tour. We were amongst the first to see Stonehenge in the morning, we also had plenty of time in Bath. After seeing The Roman baths, Oz took us to some places where they filmed Bridgerton which my wife LOVED! The last little stop in The Cotswolds was to die for! Postcard pictures and memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you!
