   Stayed here with family (4 adults). Unfortunately wasn't great and wouldn't choose again, despite enjoying the location to Southport and Liverpool. It's just not the quality you'd expect from paid accommodation. Needs a deep clean, dusty webs that had been there a while, dust on things on shelves, dead flies in windowsills and marks on aged appliances, cupboards, coffee cup left in the microwave that we had to clean before use (see a few pictures), look nothing terrible but not really expected in a holiday rental. The owner (who spoke with my parents) came across a nice and a decent bloke, but I think he must have lost the desire to provide the service he's charging for as he is charging competitive prices of the area but not providing the same service like a professional clean between visitors, fluffy not coarse/marked towels, modern equipment, decent carpets/tiles floors, new sofa without stains etc (all can still be done in keeping with the theme of the place without being dirty/dated). Some pluses, a great DVD collections and TVs in every room, a large space with a dining table for games, however it was too cluttered on every surface trying to go for a cottage style I think, but with multiple electric kettles displayed in the kitchen (broken I assumed) and dusty alarm clocks (see picture), glasses sets and cassette players for decor all must make it a mission to clean properly, and that might be part of the problem. Apparently the owner said he knows it needs work so hopefully he turns it around but feel like it's not had some TLC/investment from profits in a while, a few poor reviews on different sites from similar experiences and yet it's still charging area rates. The guest book however had a lot of positive reviews from years back so hopefully the place will receive a bit of a care and investment out of season and enthusiasm to tackle it by the owner, but for now, as I'd love to come visit the area again, I'd book elsewhere I'm afraid. (The response below and him reporting pictures to be removed says it all doesn't it.)
