Went today 20th December with voucher for high tea a disaster from start to finish told Groupon shouldn’t have done the voucher made to feel it was our fault by someone who called himself the manager. The sandwiches were shocking cheap horrible bread tiny bit of filling cake and biscuits cut in triangles falling apart. Scones you could have used as doorstops. He admitted they wouldn’t normally serve what we had what an admission but as I said we were made to feel it was our fault and to take it up with Groupon I pointed out they served the food not Groupon and left never to return.

I was here for my works Christmas night out. Can't fault the staff who were lovely and we had a nice night, but very disappointed with the food. For the price we paid £40, a 2 course Dinner comprised of a lump of chewy turkey a spoon full of solid carrot and parsnip discs, 2 dry roast potatoes and one pig in a blanket. The apple crumble was very tarte and no one ate it. We didn't even get a cracker on the table. I missed my free glass of bubbly, but they did give me one when I asked. Not impressed at all with the meal, disco was fun Didn't stay so can't comment on the rooms. I wouldn't go back for a meal or Christmas night out. Disappointed as I know my group was

Visited the function suite for an orchestra performance. Good size space. Bar kept the drinks coming. Lovely cosy Christmas atmosphere and decorations in the place. Could see it being a good place for a meal. The inside scoop from an eho friend is its always spotless.

For a place charging ridiculous money for one night Deluxe Room,£150! We were not happy to find our room was dirty, dusty and mouldy, not to mention the sizing was awful. Lampshades ( both sides ) with mould and dust. We couldn't use the shower due to the sealant being black with mould. That doesn't need replacing, it needs re-done. No hand towels, just bath towels. ( which is ridiculous just for your hands,a waste of a towel) Windows that Fully open without any child locks. Is dangerous. This is our second issue with this 'House'. Sadly, the review isn't nice. But neither is the money they charged us for a dirty, unkept room! Which sadly was paid for twice. As we had other guests. The staff were made to make us feel like it was a burden to fix a room that we specifically asked for to be a Twin Room,to find two single beds pushed together. For them then to come and change later in the night before we arrived back. I do not know where these prices come from. It certainly is not a Hotel. I have had cheaper, nicer and more spacious rooms in the middle of the town. I would avoid anyone silly enough to pay for a room that size which isn't kept to Hotel Standards. 3 star Hotel doesn't mean lacking in cleanliness.

Excellent fish & chips in the bar. Found the dining lounge too noisy whenever I visit. Prices very reasonable & half price mains at selected times

Beautiful stay at Musselburgh. We spent 3 nights at Ravelston House. Rooms were neat and clean. Breakfast was complimentary and delicious. Staff is very good and helpful. They also have pub and restaurant on ground floor. We had our dinner at the restaurant and food was amazing. Good connectivity to Edinburgh with public transportation. Bus stops are right outside the hotel. Also, there is lovely riverside walk nearby. Overall it was wonderful stay and recommended.

I would like to provide some feedback and express my disappointment regarding the food we were served at our Christmas party on Saturday. To begin with the food wasn’t served until about 845 when we were seated for 730. We had previously informed of any dietary requirements and assumed this was being fulfilled. We then had some of our guests with dietary requirements served before the rest of the table. which was awkward. I then went up for my food and got the beef and asked for some extra pigs in blankets and was given one more which I was a bit disappointed in but can obviously understand that. The beef was terribly tough and had been held too long I suspect. The veg was rock solid and I struggled to cut it never mind eat it. Some of our vegetarian guests still hadn’t been served there food by the time I had finished/given up on mine. Which was even more awkward. When they eventually got served, the meal came completely dry and I had to ask them to make vegetarian gravy? The veg was inedible. Other than the food, we had a good night! The disco was great and the bar staff were also good! I loved that we were able to request songs, that was a great touch to the evening.

Went for lunch on the off chance as we had not booked, the young lady who took us in was so nice and helpful, sorted us out with a table and had us seated in no time flat. The food was very good and quite delicious it will not be long before we will be back . The staff were friendly and helpful and chatty while busy setting up for more people coming in to eat. This is one busy place but worth it.

This is a very well priced small hotel with 7 rooms. The rooms were newly renovated and very clean. The service was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was included and the choice for such a small hotel was excellent, including both vegetarian and vegan options. I will definitely stay here again.

We visited for a friend's surprise 50th birthday party. It was a lovely space with ample size for tables and chairs with a dance floor and a separate bar. Staff were polite and helpful. Food was good and tasty. Toilets were slightly in need of refurbishment but fully functioning. Car park was rather small but on street parking was readily available nearby. They had disabled and baby change facilities. It was quite busy. They had outdoor seating too.
