The absolute BEST BURGER I have ever had in my entire life. As an American, I can say this blows any American burger out of the water. I will 100% be back when in town. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, you need to stop here. The drinks are tasty on top of that + good prices. Our service was also great.
Was here for a breakfast meal as we've always said we would. There waa possibly 1 other group in when we went in. We got sat in a booth and both went for the full Scottish breakfast and a pot of tea each. As you can see, its a decent portion plate for the breakfast. Been to places or previously had takeaway breakfasts delivered which have been bigger, but sometimes they're a bit too much. Little bit pricier but for a treat probably say it was worth it. The toast was amazing so was the black pudding. The waitress was nice and friendly and didn't bother us when we were eating. My only complaint with Beetroot is the seat backs in the booth are quite upright and the booths are quite narrow so if you are above average height there's a wee bit of manoeuvring to get legs in comfortably under the table. Still.... In saying that, good food.
We had a family Easter Sunday lunch here. Everything was excellent. Good service great food. Very large portions. A nice variety. We will definitely be back.
Stopped in for a quick bite and definitely was not disappointed! The server was so friendly and welcoming. She gave us great tips for our trip through Scotland. Shepards pie was fantastic and try the chips with brown sauce!
4 of us went in for dinner and a catch up, had a fab time. The waiter (didn't catch his name) was brilliant with us, made our night. The food was brilliant, reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.
This bar/grill promotes safety for women, especially women who want a bite to eat or a drink on their own. Very welcoming, the christmas lunch was excellent and brilliant value for money. It's also on a bus route from Edinburgh lothian region bus number 49 or 31.
Utterly fantastic! As an actual resident of Bonnyrigg, I never made it across until today, on a random whim for lunch! From the warm greeting upon entering to the really generous portions, the food is delicious, very flexible with options and choices. Menu is extensive, something for everyone. The staff are really attentive, with the little touches really made it for me today. Humble and friendly - I'll be back :) PS - The toilets are worth a visit alone - spotless!
We went for Wednesday lunch and drinks. It was a beautiful day, cocktails were marvellous and the food was fabulous. My husband had steak and chicken skewers which he said was amazing and I had the chilli burger which I would say is probably the most tasty burger I've ever had. The service was excellent and we had a lovely afternoon.
Loved the place as it was very cosy. The staff were super friendly. The food was even better! The fish and chips was a personal highlight and the portion was big and the coleslaw was great. For dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding which had a texture like it had been steamed. The caramel sauce was one of the best I’ve ever had. The eton mess was also very good with real berries and a great berry sauce. The tea I got was also served with complimentary biscuits!
