I ordered the shrimp bun, and wow, it absolutely hit the spot! The bun was perfectly soft, and the shrimp was incredibly fresh and tasty. The sauce tied everything together beautifully, with the crunchy onions adding the perfect texture and the pickled cucumbers giving that tangy kick that made every bite amazing. It was one of those meals that just works: simple, fresh, and full of flavour. Enjoying it right by the beach made it even better. Highly recommend if you’re in Portobello and craving something delicious by the sea!

I came to Edinburgh for 3 days and really wanted to have fish and chips by the beach. And it was amazing! The portion was too big for me though, so I took my time before I finished it, haha. It was so delicious! Totally recommend. If you are not really hungry, though, you might want to consider taking a small (kid's size) portion, which is just £5.

What a brilliant little venue, fantastic staff member whose customer services and attitudes are absolutely wonderful. Welcoming smiles and good banter. But the best part was the food, fresh and delicious, must better that some of the venues on George street! The batter on the shrimp was light and crispy, the shrimp itself was cooked perfectly, plump and succulent…we opted for the special sauce - definitely worth getting. The oysters again were so good, I mean so good! Will definitely be visiting again. If you get a chance to get some food here do it you won’t be disappointed with the food the service or the views (when the sun is out).

I absolutely loved the lobster roll and the combinations of flavours it presented! Sweet lobster and brioche paired with the the creamy and tartness of the coleslaw was a winning combo for me. Cajun fries were very moreish and we couldn’t stop eating them. My partner particularly enjoyed the crab Mac and cheese as it had a lovely crabby seafood flavour through out. Would go again for these two dishes. The oysters were nice and fresh, but a bit disappointed with the battered prawns. As just wasn’t a fan of the texture of the prawns inside it the creamy buffalo sauce. Overall a lovely meal with quick service!

Lovely food, quickly served. The fries with the lobster roll are amazing, and the shrimp bun is extremely tasty. We totally pigged out and also had crab mac n cheese. Great wee place, and great food!

This was my 3rd time at Shrimpwreck and on no occasion have I been disappointed! Beautiful fresh fish cooked to perfection, crisp batter and delicate flesh, inside a lovely soft bun with just the right amount of tartar sauce. This was the halfway point on our cycle and the fish sarnie was just the perfect sized meal! I'll be back again to try the lobster roll!
