Nice beautiful restaurant with plenty of choices for food including vegan and vegetarian options. Wonderful service and elegant environment. Both my husband and I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere very much. Highly recommend it!!
Had a great time at this restaurant. We had a reservation but it was quite quiet so we didn't actually need one. The food came very quickly and the service was excellent, waiters were always checking in and going above and beyond to make the experience memorable. The food tasted very nice, one of the best Chinese restaurants I have been at. They bring some heated surfaces to keep your food hot whilst you eat it which was a good extra touch. Portions of fried rice, chow mein and dumplings were ideal for sharing. Would definitely recommend for fast, high quality service and food.
Been a regular at the Rendezvous for 60 yrs. it was the first Chinese in Edinburgh and still going from strength to strength. Big table at night with all family, great. But their lunch menu is fab value and the quality still there. Oh and they do Lucas ice-cream best in Edinburgh (Musselburgh) for over 100 yrs.
Absolutely delicious. I would 100% be back, one of the best curries I've had in a long time, just like curries that we used to get. Price is fantastic with the lunchtime menu. Service was fast and efficient. Starters - Chicken & Sweetcorn soup, Prawn Cocktail, Spare Ribs Mains - Beef curries, Shredded Chilli Beef, fried rice, and portion of chips. Sweets - Banana fritter and coffee ☕️ 10/10
Rendezvous serve the best Chinese curry in the city. It is full-bodied, flavourful, aromatic and the meat (I've tried special curry and beef curry) is high quality and tender. The onions are just right and have that wok hey.
Limited vegetarian options. Starter being standard - spring rolls, mains Thai Curry - spicy and OK, boiled rice overdone, dessert - apple coated with crusty pastry + ice cream - OK, two apple balls not eaten. Service OK - could have offered more option.
I’m from the United States. I’m not sure if this is what folks in the UK consider good Chinese food….if so, I feel really sorry for them. We got pork fried rice delivered, literally one of the most simplest dishes to order. Upon arrival (and it was late), I discovered these grey looking meat strips drenched in this soupy mush of a brown sauce with some peas on top of the fried rice. The smell and texture reminded me of wet dog food, or those little Dinty Moore microwaveable meals you can get from the store for .99. Seriously, what is wrong with people?!?
The food and atmosphere here was great!! They serve Lunch Meul which is £13.99per person. I ordered the spare ribs as starters,it tasted really good. As for Main dishes,I will recommend Kung Po chicken if you like bland food.
I judge a Chinese restaurant by its hot & sour soup, first (!) and this one was perfect. All the food was solid - traditional dishes you expect from a westernized Chinese restaurant - customer service was excellent, and the place is clean and well set up.
