   I wanted to try here because of all the good reviews, and I wasn’t totally disappointed. My wife loved her chicken sandwich and the gravy she ordered for her chips. My kids loved their food and ice cream. I absolutely cherished the haggis fritters. They were incredibly good and perfectly prepared. I just have to admit, I really disliked my fish and chips. The fish was very rubbery and had a not so fresh taste. I couldn’t finish it.

   First time in a long time since we had visited the boat for some food and it did not disappoint. We where greeted by 2 servers who where great throughout and kept our boy company chit chatting. We had fish and chips, chicken burger with bacon, jalapeño, hash browns, spicy mayo and chips, kids pizza and chips with diluting juice and icecream. All the food was great as expected. We dined just after midday on a week day and it was not busy. We will be back again next time we are around the Clydebank area.

   We have had many visits to this restaurant over the years and always had a fantastic meal. Fish so big it flops off the plate and scrumptious crispy batter. Chips to die for. Well our family meal on 13/12/22 was a complete disappointment. The fish was half the size and had an odd taste. No crispy batter in sight. What we got was a soggy coating that was more like breadcrumbs an the chips had a taste of either old oil or cooked in something weird. The price had increased which we expected but to get served half the normal size and tasting distinctly awful. Couldn’t finish the meal. We ordered chocolate fudge cake and ice cream. It was lovely, half the size we used to get and a whopping £5.15. Sorry but you have lost regular customers. Only gave it 2* for the excellent service.

   So do you fancy sitting on a picnic bench in a shopping centre car park to eat your lunch? Then your in luck. That's a bit cruel to be honest, you are also by a canal. The choice, service and quality of the fish and chips is great. A little short on vegetarian options, but if you are one you will expect that anyway. Loved the curry sauce. There is a gluten free fish if you need it So all in a good chippy.

   Brilliant food, great service and the staff were very attentive to my 5yr old daughter. Best fish and chips I've had in ages and my wee girls pizza was lovely too. Massive ice cream with sprinkles for her after the main. Definitely recommend McMonagles and we will be back real soon.

   Top rating for this fantastic establishment. Best fish supper I’ve ever had in my life. As a Trucker I’ve traveled far and wide, but I’ve never tasted food so delicious. WOW I’ll definitely be back again. Thank you Chef and staff for the experience.
