Been a fan since it was in the Vennel in Irvine. Went for a Xmas set menu lunch My wife chose the Turkey Xmas plate. Right away the presentation was suspect. Instead of the gravy being in a side pot. The plate was swimming in a water stock up to the brim of the flat plate . I could see she was struggling with it , I asked what was wrong and said the it ( the stock) was loaded with salt . She did eat the 2 pigs in blankets. When the waitress lifted our plates and obviously my wifeβs untouched I told her that it was inedible due to the over salting. Thought we might have had a reply from front of house but none came. Paid the bill and left a tip as the serving girls with efficient and attentive. Iβm sure if Dominic was there he would have noticed an untouched plate and dealt with the customer and had words wit the kitchen

Lovely little restaurant. Excellent service, friendly staff, cozy vibes. Gluten free pasta/ pizza bases available. They do pick up takeaways, but need to be contacted directly. You will need to check availability before you go (particularly if coming from a distance) as they are very busy and their regular clientel do book in advance. I have been several times, and have been unlucky several times when chancing my luck on an impulsive visit.

It's a busy place. For a couple, it might be too noisy. You feel you need to shout to talk to each other. Might be a good place to have a gathering . Staff are friendly and the food is decent. Cocktails were not so appealing but okay. Reasonable choices of food and drinks. You have to pay extra if you want gluten free.

First time visit. Obviously very popular with regular guests. Sunday late afternoon, all tables full or reserved. Couple of large family tables. Cuisine was fine, everything freshly made to order. House wine served in ceramic jugs. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

My best friend and her husband brought us here while we were visiting from the US. I wish I had such a lovely restaurant back home. The food here was delicious, the service wonderful, and the atmosphere was charming and festive. I can't wait to come back the next time I'm visiting Scotland.

Three of us, my wife,my sister and me had a really excellent lunch last Thursday. The menu is way better than average Italian restaurants, look and see. The atmosphere was relaxed and happy as were the terrific staff. The food was impressive. Superb value for money. The only downside is that I don't live near Kilmarnock or I'd be back already.
