Absolutely outstanding Chinese takeaway that’s become my go-to spot in Hengrove. I’ve tried numerous dishes here over the past year, and the quality has been consistently excellent every single time. The standout for me is their beef curry with special fried rice – honestly, it’s the best combination I’ve found locally. The beef curry has proper depth of flavour, tender chunks of beef, and just the right level of spice that builds without being overwhelming. The sauce is rich and aromatic, clearly made fresh rather than from a generic jar. The special fried rice is packed with prawns, chicken, and egg, perfectly seasoned with each grain separate and not greasy like you sometimes get elsewhere. Together, they’re an absolute winner. Portion sizes are generous – you definitely get value for money here. The staff are always polite and efficient, with orders ready promptly whether you’re collecting or getting delivery. I’ve never had a cold meal or missing items, which shows they take pride in what they do. The menu has all the classic dishes you’d expect, plus some interesting specials. Everything I’ve tried has been freshly prepared with quality ingredients. Prices are very reasonable for the area, especially considering the portion sizes and quality. If you’re in Hengrove and fancy a Chinese, Peking Chef should be your first choice. Just make sure you order the beef curry and special rice – you won’t regret it.

Ordered food tonight , chicken skewers, chicken balls , chicken curry , chicken and mushrooms and rice and.chips. food was hot however the chicken in the chicken curry and the chicken mushroom was like squishy and slimy white chicken literally spat it out as soon as it went in my mouth. My son did the same and he will eat almost anything given To him ,it was Not edible at all .. not sure if it’s been boiled in water or something but it wasn’t nice at all. The chicken skewers were the opposite they were chewy and hard! Chicken balls were nice and the rice was nice also. I did call the shop to tell them about the chicken only to be told that well they been very busy today and had no complaints.. and that was it ! No suggestion on how to rectify the issue only response I had was that as above.. spent £38 on food which is a lot of money ever more so when the food u order isn’t edible and over half ended up in the bin… won’t be returning

Food is very good here and the portion sizes are decent and all cooked fresh. it’s worth calling to order as it does get busy and they only take cash which I was surprised by. Hopefully they will catch up with the way of the world and accept contactless soon hence my 4 out of 5 stars. Other wise definatly worth considering for your weekend Chinese.
