Size of portion small, face on the girl behind the till was lacking any warmth or interest to be there. Battered sausage was a funny was to describe it as not much batter. The guy on the fryer was more appreciative of the custom, that’s what added a star on the service side. Update, I find it incredible when businesses respond to almost justify their attitude. I send reviews based on my experience and then get told about either how other customers are either very happy with their service or how bad some customers can be, and you have to remember that you are not paying for customers to come to your shop and that you are the ones providing a service. I was happy when I entered the shop but not when I left. You most definitely are allowed to have off moments but if you feel the need to respond to someone that has shared their experience then be humble. Customers provide a living for yourself. I will not spend another penny in this shop based off your attitude. Update 2. Absolutely amazing, You are more of a sausage than the ones you sell. Your response to my review has shown your customers your true attitude, and let me tell you this for free… it stinks. I don’t need your life story, I just want a decent meal with good customer service from people that appreciate the custom.
While driving past smelt the chips, had to turn around and get some, very nice food, not much batter on the battered sausages but still very nice, a little pricey for the amount you get, but would definitely visit again.
Lovely welcoming couple always greet you with a smile! I find the portions too large and always ask for a small chips ( still too many for me!) The fish is encased in a lovely golden, crispy batter - cooked to perfection! Cannot recommend this excellent fish and chip shop too highly! Six days a week too, twice a day!!

Really great fish and chips shop. Huge portions, I think a large chip could feed a family of four. My husband and I both ordered large cod fish and shared a large chip, we could hardly make a dent in the chips. The fish tasted fresh and batter was delicious and really crispy. Chips were also fresh just out of the fryer. We also had a side of mushy peas (good) and a fish cake (very processed and not necessary when you’re getting fish & chips). We ordered at the counter and waited less than 5 minutes for the order. Fast friendly service. The only con was that they didn’t have lemon and you’re paying the same price you would at a pub.

Great fish and chips, very nice staff too. Order ahead facility is great for busy times. Screens in place and people generally observing social distancing and wearing masks.
