Was a great gym when I joined over 12 months ago. Then suddenly over subscribed could not get on equipment had to try later and later. Treadmills always break the belt slips. Then the 40 percent rise to 70.00 I can't justify. Plus to renew you have to pay a fee. Small gym ... owner too greedy.. pity as staff are fantasic

I visited using a day pass and was impressed with the facilities. The pool and spa area is lovely and was all working. Very clean. The cafe is also really nice and the staff were great

This was a decent gym for £50 a month, however with the price now being increased to £70 a month, and the membership cap being removed, it’s no longer worth it. It’s now too busy for such a small gym in St Helens with one smith machine, one squat rack and one stair master. Other equipment is really tired and out of use a lot. You don’t get your money’s worth any more. The lockers never work, and some are broken. There are five showers in the women’s changing room, which is a nightmare for ‘traffic’ at peak times. The staff are absolutely lovely, but it’s a shame owner greed has become an issue.

This could be such a nice fitness club and it seems to have gone down hill. We really enjoyed the first couple of months as members but it all changed in the early summer. Something is always broken, the pool and jacuzzi made us genuinely feel unwell (they didn’t at first but we were told that nothing had changed chemical wise when trying to give feedback) and it’s just not a relaxing atmosphere in the pool area. One particular member of staff had a really horrible attitude that made us quite uncomfortable. Not worth the cost and I wouldn’t recommend.

It's a very classy gym, it has everything you need, however, there is always issues with the spa. Showers are broken, sauna doesn't work, steam room doesn't work, jacuzzi makes your eyes water. Mens changing rooms have wet floors everywhere. I've been a member 3 years.

Place has been refurbished & looks great. The pool was cool today but ok for swimming. The steam room wasn't very warm, didn’t feel like it was working to me. Showers were warm, but the floors around were very slippery. Changing rooms very nice, just missing a clock. Not tried the gym yet. Overall very impressed on my 1st day back.

Critique about the gym area only. Pros: Friendly staff and good equipment. Cons: 1-The QR code reader in the entrance doesn't work sometimes. Same applies for the app as well. 2-The air-conditioning is too much. Very cold gym. This is a low celing gym, meaning all that frozen air hits you right in the back and chest. Very dangerous. 3- Many of the lockers do not work. There was one day when I had to try 6 lockers to get one that was working. There were 3 more that helped me, so I know for a fact that they were not working. 4- The are several spots that you can't connect to the wifi and you can't connect with data. 5-The gym is divided let's say in different compartments. That's not something that can change but it definitely is not my taste. Very weird and boring. Conclusion: It's ok to visit for 2,3 times, but I wouldn't do a long term contract in this gym.

Not a bad gym, but if it's busy it soon becomes very small, I found it also to dark in there. Pool area is very slippery even when wearing appropriate footwear. Scanning in and out via your smartphone can be a bit of a nuisance. Staff on reception were always friendly and helpful. It is reasonably priced when you take into account the pool, sauna, steam and Jacuzzi. Carpark isn't the best or road in and out of the place. Can be awkward.

Beautiful surroundings. Plenty car parking. Spotless clean. Feel really let down as when we joined wasn't told boiler broken in the pool. Only weeks later it's broken again. Asked to freeze membership. Told no. So now paying for a pool too cold to get in. Changing rooms are so slippy and if lockers jam and ring bell took 20 minutes for someone to attend. So mixed bag.
