Visited during the daytime midweek so it was quiet. I've been there at busier times too when there's more atmosphere. The tvs play sports channels but not loud. There's a separate pool and darts room. The prices are very reasonable.
I believe the only pub in village but you don’t need any more this place is excellent great atmosphere , staff fantastic , Jack runs a great pub , genuinely friendly , the food os exceptional , bistro quality , if in area check it out
Love the coalgate so do the kids. Jack and rest of staff are great.. the food is amazing best bar/restaurant in the lothians!

Just had a meal for my granddaughters birthday. The food was amazing reasonable priced and the staff were fantastic thanks again. Will definitely be back.
