Overall, it was a great night out! We went for the comedy show. When we got there, around 7:30, there was barely anyone, so we had a moment where we were wondering if we were in the right place. However, after 8 pm, the place started to fill up. We had 2 coronas for £10 and a Margherita for £10. The pizza wasn't nice, and I noticed other people who had it left most of it on the table, too. Then the show started and we had a great time! There were 4 comedians in total, + Adam who was the presenter. Genuine laughters among the crowd and all the people on the stage were great! The event finished at 10 pm, and after that, the place started to get ready for the next event, which is the nightclub. I will definitely go again!

SCAM WARNING! I paid for a ticket and join the queue 11:00 PM. The queue was moving really slowly on purpose because they know it's free before midnight. I didn’t get to the door until 12:07 AM, and then they told me I had to pay another £10.50 on top of what I already paid! Don’t waste your money — total rip-off.

Let's talk about last night's interaction on at the one and only 'Lit' club in Clapham. Let's just say this club is so far from being 'Lit', it's more a poorly coordinated hole in the wall. It's giving we are found a legitimate way to hustle guests out of their money, with poorly informed event details, which judging by the reviews, the madness that I experienced, is just standard behaviour regardless of the type of event/event management team. I recently attended an event at Lit Club in Clapham on 22/02/25 for birthday drinks and dancing. Unfortunately, my experience was filled with regret. The event was advertised to start at 9 PM on Eventbrite, but according to Google, the club opens at 10 PM. I advised my guests to arrive around 10:30 PM. Upon arrival at 10:35 PM, we found the club still closed. Some guests who arrived earlier were turned away and informed that the club opens at 11 PM, causing unnecessary confusion and delays for my arriving guests. We waited for 45 minutes with fewer than 10 people ahead of us, yet the line barely moved. It seemed the promoter was trying to create a queue outside, possibly because nothing was set up inside or they wanted the event time to gain attention. Before getting to the door, the security explained that the promoter/bar manager had asked for a £20 entry fee after 12 PM. Then the message was that if you have a ticket, free entry is okay. Later, it was stated that only VIP tickets are free entry only. Clearly, it's make up the rules as they go along. The VIP experience—what, where? I did not see it and therefore would not recommend it. Regarding communication and staff conduct, I inquired about the last entry time for free tickets valid before 12 PM, given the late opening. The security guard informed me that the last entry was at 2:45 AM, with the club closing at 3 AM. A weird allowance; however, after collecting my ID at the door, this information changed, and 12 PM was the set time. The ID check process was also disorganized. With a full security team, IDs and tickets could have been checked or scanned before 12 p.m., allowing guests to enjoy the event. The bar manager was unprofessional, confrontational, and abusive of her position. She shouted at guests, arbitrarily selected individuals for removal from the queue based on dress sense or attitude, and provided vague explanations for their removal. This was not a well-dressed event; "happy casual" would be my description. While most of the hired security staff were supportive, some lacked the experience to make informed decisions and instead followed the bar manager's lead like sheep. Recommendations: Implement ID scanners to expedite the entry process. Allow entry stamps for smokers to facilitate re-entry. Provide retraining or replace staff who exhibit unprofessional behavior—let's start with the bar manager. My night was marred by constant interactions with security, asking my guests to pay £20 after they had shown their free tickets and gained entry. This was both embarrassing and frustrating because I was called from the dance floor. Given my experience, I advise against attending any managed events at Lit Club. Had I read reviews beforehand, I would have reconsidered my plans or cancelled my birthday drinks.

This club was a min walk from the trsin station. Got there for an afro-Caribbean night. The music was excellent. We booked a table And a security guard stayed at the entrance the entire night to ensure only our group came in. The crowd was very young. Roughly 18- 30.

I really enjoyed the music, and the place is nice but we arrived early and we noticed a damp smell and later on when it got busy the place was very hot, I think it need better ventilation. The drinks were a bit pricey, 11£ a single shot with mixer so we do not know if we will repeat the experience…

Lit was a good night out good music. But £20 on the door is expensive! Drinks are expensive too. £4 for a Redbull & £16 for a double rum and coke.... Also the majority of the crowd is under 25. I'm 38 I felt old in the club. But it was a good vibe.Vlub finishes at 3am which is a bit early for me. But a good night out.

Cool Club in Clapham. Downside: they don’t have a clockroom or if they do it was closed during the event MadeInAfrica last Saturday. Bar staff is competent and friendly and the service is quick. Not a massive venue, only one room so you don’t have to worry about loosing your friends :)
