   I have such mixed feelings about the 606. It’s a lovely intimate venue with great acoustics, lovely food and a wonderful atmosphere where you can see world class artists really close up for the price of a very nice dinner and a really reasonable music charge (and the people complaining about the music charge are idiots; do they think professional musicians should go to work for free?!) They also have a “quiet room” policy, which is great, respect shown to the artists is a lovely thing to see although obviously this is hard to enforce once people have a few drinks inside them. So, from a music and dining point of view, a great venue. On the other hand, and I have to raise this because it might help others - *completely* inaccessible for many if not most people with disabilities. I really struggled on my crutches and a wheelchair user simply wouldn’t be able to access it at all - even if they were willing to suffer the indignity of being carried down the steps there are no accessible facilities and no way to move in a wheelchair or using any other mobility assistance once you get down there because the tables are crammed in so tight. This worried me in the event of an emergency; once I got seated I found myself scanning the room for a way out that would be safe for me and people behind me, and there just didn’t seem to be one. This total lack of accessibility really shouldn’t be a thing in nearly 2026, and it sullied what would have otherwise been a 5 star night. Of course it’s a historic building, and it’s in a basement, and buildings like that can’t just be made fully accessible at the drop of a hat, and the staff were very helpful and really did their best, providing info about the steps before the visit and trying to help me down them once I was there. But there are so many little things that could be done to make it a bit more accessible which would really help. For example, making those really steep steps better lit - someone had to go down before me shining a phone light so I didn’t fall - or having some kind of removable stairlift installed (the stairs are straight and wide, so it might be practically doable), or making sure that toilet cubicle doors don’t open inwards so people using mobility aids can still get into them (important, since there’s no accessible toilet) - I couldn’t with the crutches because there simply wasn’t room to navigate around the door and the toilet with them and no room to use them to push myself back up again, so trying to use the loo was a total nightmare. Even putting a grab rail on the wall would help a bit. It seems they just haven’t thought about these really basic things and that’s disappointing, because fixing them could make such a difference, not to every disabled patron but at least to some, and could be the difference between someone being able to enjoy the same gigs as everyone else and not being able to access them at *all*. I went and suffered that because it was the only London date for someone I really wanted to see, but it definitely means I wouldn’t go there for a night out or to discover new music, and it’s not because I don’t want to - I’d love to be able to support a great venue like this - it’s because the inaccessibility of the setup means I *can’t*, and that’s a real shame.

   A magical jazz club tucked away in a non assuming basement. Staff are very good at communicating the venue and its quirks. I had a great meal, good drinks and thoroughly enjoyed a blistering set of jazz. World class.

   I went to support my friend at her EP launch/birthday celebration and had a lovely evening. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, which made the atmosphere even better. I didn’t have any food, so I can’t comment on that, but I did enjoy a soft drink. The only small downside was the lack of straws (maybe they’d run out) but in 2025 I wouldn’t expect to have to drink straight from the glass. Other than that, it was a wonderful night overall.

   I came here on a alternative option to celebrate my bday with my mum as she was visiting me from the states. I love all kinds of genres of music and thought this would be a good alternative to our original plans. I was very happy with my choice as my mum was. Dana Gillespie, and her band was awesome. Great music, and Dom Stockbridge is an amazing guitarist. Instant fan that night. Food was great though I am vegetarian and i literally only had one option to eat, it was great, my mum had the steak. The waiter. younger of all the waiters, thin, curly black hair, left earlier than the other waiters, was fantastic. He was not our waiter, but he was so attentive to all customers and he not only got condiments for my mom for her food when our waiter didn't, he also wrapped up her leftover steak in tin foil and clear film as she didn't eat much and wanted to take it home. Great service, we wish he got his name, and he left before she could tip him, but he was also fantastic. Thank you for giving my mum great service mate. But I loved the place as I love all kinds of music and would highly recommend this place.

   A very nice Jazz club. The food was good. Even though I never went to a Jazz event before I enjoyed a lot and will definitely return when I'm again in London. The Jazz artist Tommy Blaize was so good and he and his band were awesome. What a vibe it was. Pure passion for Jazz, also from the staff.

   Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere and music. We got to see the owner, Steve, play with a fantastic band, SAMARA. Highly recommended if you want to kick back and relax at a table for an evening to enjoy some food, wine, and jazz!

   Nice and spacious jazz bar and restaurant. The venue is bigger than the average jazz bar. Food is good and portions are generous. They have a desert board with vegan options available. Good wine and spirit selection. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. Book is required and the place fills up quickly even during weekdays.

2. Abs ★★★☆☆

   Saw the Coalminers perform here on a Friday night, and they were amazing, real authentic New Orleans rhythm & blues. In terms of the venue however, the service was quite chaotic and the food whilst well presented, was below average. The starters were uneventful, fish OK, ribeye steak unseasoned and lacking flavour, and the tiramisu dry and inedible. As a music venue this place is great, but as a restaurant it's quite bad, which is a shame since you have to dine to watch a performance, which is understandable from a cost perspective.

   Nice hidden place, gave me a new Orleans vibe of old pub/club which was nice. Nice music, pianist was great. Prices high for half an aubergine as the only vegetarian main. Will come back for sure for the music not for the food. Staff very nice and welcoming.
