I can’t recommend this dental practice enough! The entire team is fantastic—from the friendly and efficient reception staff who always go above and beyond to help me get the best appointment (and even squeeze me in for emergencies), to my amazing dentist Alastair who makes every visit comfortable and thorough, along with all the lovely dental nurses and Alison the fab hygienist. The level of dental care and professionalism here is outstanding, and they truly make you feel valued as a patient. Thank you for always providing such excellent service, care and kindness.

I would highly recommend Riccarton Dental Practice. I’ve always been quite a nervous patient when it comes to dental visits, but dentist Alistair Scobie and nurse Debbie were absolutely fantastic. They were calm, patient, and really took the time to explain everything, which made me feel completely at ease. Alistair’s gentle approach and Debbie’s reassuring manner made me feel more relaxed throughout my appointment. The whole team was friendly and professional, and the care I received was excellent. I’m so glad I chose this practice — thank you for making the experience such a positive one.

I’ve been really impressed with this dental practice. The dentist is friendly, professional, and makes you feel at ease straight away. The nurses have clearly been here for years and it really shows in how well they work together and look after patients. It’s a welcoming, reliable team that makes going to the dentist a much more comfortable experience. Highly recommend!

I am an extremely anxious patient when it comes to dental work, so the idea of getting a root canal gave me sleepless nights for several weeks. However, Dr. David completely changed my perspective and helped ease my anxiety. From the moment I walked in, he was kind, calm, and incredibly patient with me. He took the time to explain everything in a way that helped ease my anxiety and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. Throughout the procedure, he checked in frequently to make sure I was doing okay, and his gentle approach made a huge difference. What could have been a very stressful experience turned out to be surprisingly pain and stress-free, thanks entirely to Dr. David’s professionalism, skill, and compassion. He is clearly a dentist who truly understands and cares about his patients. Highly recommended, especially if you’re someone who gets nervous at the dentist!

The past 6 times I'd been in, 10min early, and the dentist was still late by 20-30min. I was late one time, obviously accidental, by 5min and the dentist was super annoyed and acting like what, I did it on purpose? Made a bit of a scene. Went private now and the dentist had to replace the 2 fillings she did for me anyway they are so bad, even though they are brand new. Not worth a waste of your money even if on NHS. Wouldn't recommend this practice.

Horrible experience. I came in to fix my chipped molar tooth and asked for a white filling. The young female dentist did an X-ray, said that white filling is not possible because it is too close to the gum and it will fall out, however, I will not need the root canal treatment. She filled the tooth with amalgam, and told me that I will need at least 4 more fillings in other teeth the next time I come in. The amalgam filling not only looked awful, also, a very sharp tooth edge was left, and it was cutting my tongue whenever I moved it. The tooth was sensitive to hot, cold, and even to breathing! So with a sore tongue and sore tooth I flew back to my personal dentist, who explained that: 1) the unprofessionally filled amalgam was already crumbling away after 1 week; 2) there is an infection in the root canals and they obviously needed cleaning before filling; 3) the other 4 “decayed teeth” which, according to the Riccarton dentist, needed filling, were actually small cavities which were already filled and perfectly healthy. My personal dentist fixed the mess, which I am very grateful to him. Save your time and money - avoid this clinic.

I have been visiting the Riccarton Dental Surgery for the last 3 years and I am very satisfied with the service I have received. My dentist, Graeme and the nurse Debbie do exceptional job (I am sure other staff do too). They always welcome you with a smile, they explain what needs to be done, then during the process what they are doing and after the job is finished, what they had done :-) That's what I call professionalism. They will go above and beyond when things are urgent as in my case when they booked me in for a very late slot on the same day. Reception staff are kind and polite, they do their best to find a slot that suits your needs when possible. Overall, a dentistry that I highly recommend.

Dentist is nice but the overall experience is horrible!!! Due to large amount of treatment, they need to report to NHS board. After three months' waiting, I checked whether NHS approved it and they said they lost the mail. They resent it and got response after a month. I think everything should be fine now, however, they said I still need to wait for approval as they require my BRP card, which they never asked me to provide! So frustrated : (
