I stopped into this cafe while waiting for my mum who was in the hospital next door for an X-ray after hours spent in A&E the night before. After a stressful morning of driving around trying to find parking, this seemed like the only nearby spot where I could quickly grab a coffee and quietly join an important work meeting. The cafe was almost completely empty around 10am. I ordered a coffee and a sandwich (mainly to be polite since I expected to sit for a short while), sat at a window table, used my own mobile hotspot, and didnβt plug anything in, and joined my call with my camera off. Partway through my meeting, a woman (I believe the owner) came over and told me it was a laptop-free zone. I genuinely hadnβt seen any signs about this, and after checking reviews later, I noticed others also mentioned the signage is easy to miss. If the signs are there, theyβre clearly not very visible. While I completely respect a business having any policy they choose, the way it was communicated felt abrupt, almost like I was being told off. It caught me off guard mid-meeting, made me feel quite embarrassed, and added stress to what was already a difficult morning. To be fair, the food and coffee were great, and the staff were very accommodating when I needed everything packed into takeaway containers. I appreciated that part of the service as they were helpful with the practical side of things. Had I known about the laptop policy, I never would have chosen this cafe especially not after a stressful hospital morning. I ended up carrying everything back to the hospital and balancing my laptop on my knee in the waiting room, missing most of the meeting anyway. My mum was also planning to join me afterwards for coffee, so the cafe lost both of our future custom. But overall, the interaction left a sour feeling. Had the signs been clearer or the message delivered more kindly, this would have been a very different experience. The cafe itself is lovely, and I had actually planned to return during future hospital visits, but unfortunately this put me off.

The matcha and pistachio latte was amazing. We also got a brownie and carrot cake which was just incredible. Service was a tad lacking, cause we were given the latte first and by the time it was almost done we got the rest of the order.

We popped into Little Royal Cafe huge gale force winds on a day even the Edinburgh Military tattoo was cancelled. We really enjoyed the coffee and this cheese scone. Pleased with the staff as well. Can rival some of our best coffees in Melbourne, Australia.

What an absolute little Gem of a find in one of the most iconic areas of Glasgow. The staff is absolutely lovely and friendly and the fare on offer is to die for. I opted for an Americano and although I'm a die hard carnivore I was exceptionally tempted by the pear and frangipane tart. All the cakes looked mouthwatering. A tenner will buy you a really pleasant morning out.

Chanced upon this cafe to save us from the rain, and was pleasantly surprised at this great find! The hot drinks were perfect, the snacks we got were tasty. Wouldnβt mind coming back here to try out their other offerings!

Nice little cafΓ©. Coffee and hot chocolate were nice. Service was good too. A little too much froth on my coffee though, I prefer less froth and more drink. Apart from that enjoyed our visit.

We enjoyed the Flat White and the coffee tasted really good. It is rather strong but we liked it that way. The personnel was very kind and the variety seemed great. The chairs were a bit strange/uncomfortable because of the pad but overall it was a good experience.

Lovely cafe with tasty coffee, comfy seats and historic decor. It provided a welcome break after our tour of the Cathedral and Necropolis. Comes highly recommended!
