Very pleasant engaging staff. Excellent service. Surprisingly quiet for a Saturday afternoon. Great food as usual.

We were a party of 6 and all enjoyed the food. Service was quick and lovely staff. Only small thing was I ordered beer battered fish but it was extremely greasy and was served on top of the chips which had been put on the plate first so they became very greasy too as the extra oil in the fish batter dripped on top of them. Other than that was a very good experience. Maybe serve the chips seperately in future.

The place itself was nice although a bit dark with only track lighting. My husband had the tomato and basil soup which was delicious, I had the goat’s cheese bruschetta with tomato also delicious. For the main course fish and chips which my husband did enjoy and said the fish was very meaty and the chips tasted savoury . I ordered the chicken and haggis with rumble dethump and pepper corn sauce which looked good but was very disappointing. The sauce was far too overpowering. Nothing could be tasted for this overpowering pepper sauce. The sauce would have been better put into a gravy boat on the side to allow the patron to adjust amount. Or better still change the recipe to a whiskey sauce. The chicken was dry and I wouldn’t recommend this dish. In all the price would have been fine if the chicken dish had been good but sadly missed the mark.

Come here for coffee regularly, staff are friendly and its well priced! Recently came for an evening meal and it was excellent, for a fair price too. Fish and chips was excellent! Great beer garden/outdoor seating area too, total sun trap!

Here for a funeral wake.Hardly any parking and spaces very tight beside each other.Only other parking on the main street which may be metered. No sign to say where to go just free for all.Nice sandwiches, sausage rolls, cakes and coffee and tea. A bar person came round the table to collect drink orders. Overall service and place okay.

The food here is lovely. We had the Cullen skunk and the avocado and poached eggs. The reason for the three stars is the lack of atmosphere, cheap looking tables and lack of atmosphere which does nothing to promote the kitchen’s efforts.

We had a funeral party. Excellent venue, nice location, great food, attentive staff. Jacqui acted as a meet and greeter to us. Wonderful service, nothing was any trouble for them. I highly recommend for this type of function as sensitive to our needs.

Lunch was Fish and chips x2 Battered fish- good. Portion small Chips - warm, over cooked, burned taste, soggy Mushy peas- tiny portion (chopped garden peas) Side Salad- green leaves and stuff - OK Lemon and Kiwi Tarte with raspberry coulis X2- Actually Lemon Tarte (soggy, rubbery, tasteless) with 2 withered slices of Kiwi, thin splashes of red stuff presumably Raspberry Coulis (not enough to taste). Yuk!! Tea- I suspect a cheap catering brand PreBought soft drinks (Coke etc)- good! Cost/ £49.50 Very disappointing (to be fair I have had much better here on other occasions)
