Harelaw is a great fishery. The shop is stocked with fly tying gear. The trout give a great fight. It can be windy even on a calm day which increases your experience. There is a lovely cafe where you can order your lunch and it ready for you coming off the water.
Cracking fishery. Will go back my next trip to Scotland.
A stunning place on a summers night out on the boat iv never seen rises or fly hatches anywhere like harelaw before. Literally fish swimming over every bit of the surface with there mouths open. A must try for everyone who likes fishing dries. Personally I can't get enough of it.
A peaceful little getaway near Neilston, perfect for a quick escape from the daily grind. The area offers a quiet, scenic spot, mainly popular with fishing enthusiasts but it’s also great if you’re just looking to relax and enjoy some fresh air. There’s a charming on-site café open until 2 PM, serving breakfast and lunch. The menu has a decent variety, ranging from snacks and hot beverages to full breakfasts, burgers, and even steak meals. While the prices are a bit on the higher side compared to typical fast food joints, the place and setting make up for it. Especially the gentleman at the counter, is extremely courteous and friendly, which adds to the warm and welcoming vibe.
A neighbour recommended we come here. What a great find! Friendly welcome by dogs & staff. Cooked breakfasts with fresh local ingredients, great coffee, wonderful views. Can't wait to come back
Went up for the curry night having not been to the fishery for years. I also took my son who hasn't fly fished or been out in the boats before and he had a great time, even in the rotten weather. I would higjly recommend and we will definitely be back
A friend of mine who lives local recommended walking round 'The Neilston Pad' and then to go to the Harelaw Fishery for a coffee....and I did just that. Great wee place. I Sat outside with a coffee and a cake. Nice view across the reservoir. Decent sized car park across the road. Plenty places to sit outside or inside. Will definitely go back.
Well stocked fishery with quality fish. Started off with a nice brown which was returned followed by 3 rainbows around the 2 pound mark. Great day out for me and the kids.
