I was visiting Edinburgh and decided to get a haircut and I found this highly rated salon. Fiona did an amazing job, she’s nice and welcoming. She also gave me great tips on how to handle my curls/frizz. It’s good to see passionate hairstylists! I love the result, and I totally approve.
During my first visit to Outline Hair, Fiona highlighted and cut my hair. I have dark hair with some greys, and I’m focused on keeping it healthy. Fiona skilfully applied a brighter colour—without bleach—to create natural-looking highlights. My hair now looks healthy, and the subtle highlights give it a sophisticated, natural appearance. I absolutely love the new colour! The process started on time and finished exactly within the estimated duration. Fiona is not only incredibly talented but also a lovely person. I’m so glad I trusted her with my hair and will definitely be a regular client.
So pleased with my latest haircut from Fiona! I was nervous about going short again, but Fiona understood exactly what I wanted and checked in with me throughout, which I appreciated. I have thick, wavy hair that requires some thought, and don't always have the time or inclination to do a lot of maintenance and blow-drying. Fiona took all of that into account and cut a brilliant curly French bob that's easy to style and cheers me up every time I look in the mirror. The salon itself is great. Welcoming and queer-friendly, nice decor, not too loud, and a calm but still fun atmosphere.
I walked in to Outline while on holiday in December. I was lucky and able to get a cut from Kay, and it might be the best curly/wavy cut I've ever had. I had very little understanding of what I even wanted but she quickly looked at my hair and knew exactly what to address to give it shape and accentuate my curls and waves, but also keep care to a minimum because I don't have a lot of time to spend on my hair. The salon is beautiful, calm, and relaxing. It is also in a lovely area, centrally located and easy to find. I look forward to visiting again when in Edinburgh.
I’ve been going to SJ for years. She’s an absolute wizard! And has gotten my hair the blondest it’s ever been and in the best condition too. Not only does she listen to what you would like but she offers advice and suggestions and I always leave feeling a million times better. Not just because my hair is lovely but the whole experience is relaxing and a real treat! I love it couldn’t praise the team and especially SJ enough. Go see them! Worth the trip uptown. Outline is the best salon in Edinburgh! Kay and the rest of the team are so welcoming and friendly and I've always been so thrilled with my hair after every visit. The salon itself is beautiful and relaxing too! Would recommend very highly!!!

I visited Kay back in May as I was getting married in Edinburgh. I'd previously had a hair trial that didn't go to plan and contacted Kay as I loved the look of the salon and style. Kay was so brilliant from day one. We arranged to fit in a trial in the short time frame we were back in Edinburgh to be married, and she was just everything I wanted - no fuss, very relaxed and she created the most beautiful style for me. On the morning of our marriage some of our guests also had their hair styled and everyone loved the salon, staff and styles Kay and the team created. I genuinely look forward to going back to Edinburgh one day just so I can book an appointment with Kay (or move much closer!) Thank you for being so brilliant (I still love your lobster phone case!).
