A very well preserved example of a once defensive tower with arch that once housed machinery for drawing water up and into the city. This was a very important strategic part of the city walls and has held upwell considering it was partially submerged in the river for hundreds of years. There is some work needed on the stairs down to the playpark so be careful.

Nice little piece of history tucked away in the corner of Chester. It's a shame you can't get to the tower off the walls anymore. The tower is set in a nice park with plenty of space for the kids to have a run around.

This is brilliant place to bring your children plenty of room to run around and play in the park . Chesters a short walk from the park using the beautiful and historic chester walls to walk around and see the sights of chester .

Very nice tower with a garden around it. You can get there walking along a canal. There were squirrels around!

Nice stop along the walls, great to learn about the history. Good place to take some good pictures when the sun is shining.

Just a stone's throw from Bonewaldesthorne's tower. This tower is just off the main public city wall walk, but can be seen clearly from the city wall and down in the Water Tower gardens where you can go right up to the tower. Quite a striking tower when seen from below.

Another great day in Chester, not a lot of rubbish lying around here, and that makes a welcome change in itself. You can't fail to be enthusiastic about Chester, all the history and previous generations have made this a relaxing and stress free city. Well done Chester. Particularly the bus interchange, exceptionally clean, apart from chewing gum everywhere, and totally inadequate toilet facilities, but NO, broken glass, or Macdonald's garbage everywhere. Wish Warrington could be like this. Cheers.

What a fantastic little park. Great for balance and coordination for the little ones. Would be. Nice area for picnic in dry weather and just off the walls its a great distraction before you complete the walls walk with little ones.
