Good food, generous portions, nice atmosphere, polite staff. 口水鸡 is to die for. Glad I found such an authentic place in Bristol!
I tried this Chinese restaurant in Clifton, and it was a lovely experience. The restaurant has a charming garden area for outdoor dining, as well as stylish indoor seating. We ordered the stir-fried beef, which was delicious—though it would have been even better with a little less oil. The boneless crispy fried chicken was also very tasty, with a generous portion size. The dumplings were soft, flavourful, and cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Located in a beautiful part of Clifton, this restaurant offers a great combination of good food, a pleasant setting, and lovely service.
Very good environment and natural lighting. However we feel it is unnecessary to deep fry the aubergine and beans, not healthy! The steamed seabass was great. The beef quality was okay. Hope the restaurant will see this and improve them!
Yes to proper authentic, spicy Sichuan / Hunan food in Bristol! This is what we've been missing. Real nice place to sit in the evening, we go the marinated ox tongue, chili oil braised king prawns, and the stir fried aubergine (eggplant) with cowpeas. It was all delicious. We just sat there and ate. Staff were really friendly and prices are good. We'll be back, probably too often.
Great selection of Hunan and Szechuan food - wish I had more space in my stomach to eat more! Service was commendable too. We ate outside in the garden (35c heatwave) and they made sure we were comfortable. There were quite a lot of flies and wasps once food is served outdoors, so the waitress took initiative to bring us a citronella candle which was helpful. Looking forward to come back again.
New restaurant, not the hip vibe of the rest of Bristol, but fantastic authentic Chinese food. Very nice family feeling, family running and serving. Great garden for an outdoor shady lunch! Would go back. Hopefully they add bao buns to their menu soon
Amazing hidden gem for authentic Chinese food. Mostly Chinese people eating there which is always a good sign! The service was nice and efficient, and when we asked about a few dishes they were very well explained to us. My boyfriend kindly asked if they could reduce the spice on his dish and they obliged. Portions are super generous, so good value for money. I had vegetarian dishes and they were wonderful. Definitely be coming back soon!
Fantastic and authentic Hunan food! The restaurant is located in the basement (but it doesn't look like it from outside) but also you have some space outside in the garden. The restaurant looks modern and clean. Menu is HUGE and you definitely will find something for yourself. We took 7 dishes in total which cost us around £80 so the prices are also really good! Dishes came really quickly and all of them looked and tasted amazing! We had a friend from Hunan area which could confirm that these dishes were made in the proper way and taste in same way as from her province so it's definitely not "milder" taste. I will definitely visit Your Kitchen next time because it looks like a great new spot in the city centre to enjoy time with friends or family.
