   Just used Thistle for the majority of the supplies I needed to revamp a new build garden and they were fantastic. Competitively priced and good quality materials were provided. Very friendly and skilled delivery drivers. When there was a slight issue with one of the deliveries it was sorted promptly and without fuss. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

   I am leaving a negative review purely to warn people off considering Thistle for their bulk bags of topsoil. Their actual customer service was really good, as was their delivery man who was really helpful and did a great job of putting my delivery exactly where I wanted it. However the topsoil is simply no good for garden usage, unless you're using it for deep landfill. It says that it is enhanced with compost though which makes you think it will be okay for landscaping but I really don't think that's the case. The funny thing is I really took a chance here. Last year I was shopping around and called Thistle but strangely enough the guy that took my call then told me not to bother as it wasn't very good quality! Anyway a few weeks ago I passed a neighbour who'd taken an order and seemed pleased with it so I thought I'd give it a chance. However it just isn't good enough. As per the photo I found quite a few large rocks. In addition, I'm not sure what size the soil was being screened to but it surely can't be less than 15mm given the sheer number of smaller stones throughout the bag. In addition I found many pieces of broken china, glass and plastic in the mix. I wanted this soil to level out some dips in our lawn but it has been a real disappointment given the new grass has grown in very patchily given the amount and size of stones. They were cheaper and quicker to deliver (and as I said the service itself was great) but I would definitely not order topsoil from these guys again.
