   E Hay and Sons are the gold standard for mechanics in Hamilton, and I cannot recommend them enough. I have been using this garage now for at least the last 5 years, and they have never let me down. During their services and MOTs, which are consistently excellent value for money, I don't think they've ever failed to get my car back to me on the same day, reliably identifying problems with my car and fixing them with astounding efficiency. On top of that, when I was in a bind due to two deflating tyres that I only discovered late in the afternoon, they got me in the same day and fixed the problem, which saved me hundreds of pounds in lost work hours. E Hay and Sons is an excellent organisation, and beyond that, it is clear they have a real ethos and respect for their customers from their reception staff to their mechanics. Again, I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you in particular to Rod, as well as anyone who helped him fix my car so rapidly over the years.

   Considering this garage's apparent reputation from previous reviews and that it was recommended to me, I am absolutely speechless at the "service" I have received trying to have an issue diagnosed. They had my car on two separate occasions spread over three days yet failed to even take it out to hear the issue. On the first occasion it was suggested that the problem may have been identified and fixed yet 5 minutes after collecting it, it was obvious it hadn't. Back it went, for two days this time. Confirmed by the receptionist, my car has apparently sat with them for the last two days with nothing done to it. Excuses were either they were too busy or traffic was too busy. This is despite there being a dual carriageway and a motorway less than a mile from the premises. It would have taken 10-15 minutes! When collecting the car the receptionist asked if I wanted to see if someone could go out with me at the time, to which I agreed. Two minutes later she came back to tell me they were too busy. I'm still actually dumbfounded that they deem this to be acceptable service.

   This is the second time I have brought my car in and I can honestly say that these guys are the best in Hamilton. They explain everything clearly and deliver a great service.
