   So, you buy an expensive pair of trainers, and can’t get them on. Had seen online that there is a spray which loosens trainers so called in to see if they had any. They didn’t. Said they had some shoe stretchers but when I asked to see these they retracted the statement, saying they don’t stock them. They suggested I try Robert Dyas, hardware shop… for sports equipment? Told them again that I had seen product online, and was greeted with some sarcasm under their breath as I left the shop. So totally professional… not!

   I was planning to hire a demo tennis racket with the intention of buying a new one, thinking my old racket was finished. But the owner advised me to restring my current racket and test it out first, instead of spending money on a new one from his shop. He was absolutely right — my old racket has come back to life! I really appreciated how honest and helpful he was. He saved me a lot of money, and they did an excellent job with the restringing. I’ll definitely return when it’s time for a new racket. Five stars for honesty and great customer service!

   I needed to replace my son's lost shin pads and was in the Cobham area, so I knew this shop by reputation and dropped in on Sat pm. Shop was busy but I was helped quickly by a young man who was just finishing helping another customer. Got exactly what I needed at a good price. Very helpful and professional service. A very pleasant change from the large chain sports shops.
