   Following a wee bit of a fall out with my partner, I thought a trip to the hairdressers as part of the make up package might go down well. I suggested this in advance and although the idea was received positively she mentioned that she was particular about the salon type. You know the ones that without knowing make you feel uncomfortable because you’re not 20 and a social media influencer? Well, Alice Rocks is not that. It’s a bit like going to visit family (the ones you like). They just happen to be extremely accomplished and accommodating stylists. While owner John dealt with the missus’ hair I received a trim from Bruce, a lovely chap who’s been there for 10 years and used to manage Toni & Guy on Gt Western Rd. My partner is so chuffed with her refreshed look I may now be back in the good books. I’m really happy with mine too. We went to show them off at Stravaigin, the bar across the road, afterwards. No problems getting served looking that cool. Both myself and my partner would recommend 100%. Unless you’re an influenster fanny.

   Amazing attentiveness getting my hair cut from John - he tidied up my layers no questions asked. Joanne is lovely too, she coloured my hair really well and Cheryl was so attentive in finding out exactly what I wanted at the consultation. Staff are all really friendly and put you at ease. Highly recommend this salon!

   The friendliest hairdressers to exist and muslim friendly! All of the staff are absolutely amazing and cater for my needs as a hijabi. They gave me the entire bottom floor and made sure that no one else would come down as to respect my privacy. I just got my hair cut by Cheryl yesterday and it has got to be one of the most in depth appointments I've ever had. She spent so much time getting to the bottom of exactly what I wanted, telling me in detail what she was going to do and gave me the exact haircut that I wanted, all whilst being so friendly and lovely. It was honestly as if she'd copy and pasted the picture I had shown her onto me! They also gave me as much time as I needed to get myself organised and put back together before I came back upstairs to pay. I cannot recommend this place enough, thank you so much!!

   Alice Rocks and its predecessors have been looking after my hair for decades. There is not so much of it now but I still love the way my hair is cut. My first visit after lockdown was just such a treat! The staff are super friendly. The place looks and feels like a place called Alice Rocks.

   Have been getting my hair done with Alice Rocks for a few years now and I'm always absolutely delighted with them! All of the staff are incredibly friendly and always up for a good chat. Joanne is the best colourist I've been to by a country mile, and Bruce helped me to make my mind up about what kind of cut would suit me - giving me lots of detailed information about my hair type and how different layers and lengths etc would effect it. The salon is very clean and tidy and made me feel very at ease as they stuck very carefully to COVID 19 regulations. Thank you all again, I feel like a new woman after lockdown!
