Quite good facilities, better than most gyms around. Avoid duri5the afternoon when the kids make the place crowded. Besides that, great.

The men’s downstairs changing room (I believe it’s referred to as the dry changing room) is an absolute disgrace. It genuinely looks as though it hasn’t been properly cleaned in years. The smell is overwhelming—resembling vomit—and there is not a single area of the floor that isn’t covered in rubbish or standing puddles, possibly even urine, or a puddle sat obviously stagnant and untouched for years, in one corner. This was my first time using the changing facilities as an adult. I grew up enjoying Carnegie Swim Baths as a child and had fond memories of the place, but sadly this experience will ensure it is my last visit. While the front desk staff were genuinely lovely, it’s difficult to understand how management can allow the facility to deteriorate to this extent. Having an old or outdated changing room is one thing, but failing to maintain basic cleanliness and hygiene is completely unacceptable. From a health and safety perspective, the space does not feel safe to use at all. The lockers are also filthy—many have a strong smell of mildew, and most contain white residue or stains inside. Management urgently needs to be held accountable for the state of this facility. The conditions described above show a shocking level of neglect and a complete disregard for basic hygiene, public safety, and the community this building serves. Whoever is responsible for oversight should take a hard, immediate look at how this place is being managed, because allowing it to reach this condition is not just disappointing—it’s unacceptable. This level of mismanagement should not be tolerated in a public facility, let alone one with the historical and cultural significance of Carnegie Swim Baths.

As always. Staff pleasant and friendly. Facilities excellent. Changing area could have been a bit cleaner. Other than that, all round a great experience.

Played 5-a-side football in the big hall. Showing serious signs of wear and tear, with broken barriers and missing bits of net. Also, it's very noisy and echoy.

Carnegie Leisure Centre is an absolute gem for the Dunfermline community. Whether you're into swimming, fitness, or family activities, this place has something for everyone. The swimming pool facilities are top-notch — especially the main pool and the brilliant leisure pool with a flume and wave machine. It’s perfect for both serious swimmers and kids who just want to have fun. The poolside is clean, well-maintained, and well-supervised by friendly staff. The gym area is modern and well-equipped, with a good range of cardio machines, resistance equipment, and free weights. It's spacious and rarely feels overcrowded, even during peak hours. The fitness classes are varied and professionally run — from yoga and spin to body pump and aqua aerobics. Changing facilities are clean and secure, and the café area is a nice bonus — great for a post-workout coffee or snack. What really stands out is the staff: always helpful, welcoming, and professional. They create a very inclusive and relaxed environment for everyone, from beginners to regulars. If you’re in Dunfermline or nearby, Carnegie Leisure Centre is definitely worth a visit. Great value, excellent facilities, and a real community feel.

Great place to swim and exercise! The staff is amazing, polite and helpful any time I had a question. Also, one of the few monthly payments that actually feel to be in benefit of the community as a whole. If you are looking for a place to exercise, swim or even chill this is it.

Brilliant sports and leisure centre. I have used it for years for swimming for myself and my kids. The softplay is also fantastic and they offer a brilliant party package for great value. Visit there website for full details of all the activities and classes they do.

Very good facilities, clean and tidy even on Saturday. 3 pools, one for kids one for training one for swimmers (25m). Separate fast lane. There is also a sauna (quite spacious), steam room, jacuzzi. I think it would be good to have more than two showers near the sauna to cool down. People were using those two showers for actually taking a proper shower and the normal showers don't have cold water to use after sauna. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
