    The only reason they’re getting 2 stars is the pre-sale/sale service was fantastic, the individuals in the shop are knowledgeable, kind and honest. However, following this, we received an email informing us of a delay. No information on how long this would be, why this was the case nor did they update us on when the new delivery was. I try and contact them, I have to pay to phone them!! I visit the store and I was informed that I was “lucky” that my furniture wasn’t being made in china cause the delay would be more significant. Informed there was an additional 2-3 week delay from the initial delivery date. This has left me and my partner on camp chairs and blow up beds, to which I was told to “drink more wine as it makes them more comfortable”. Whilst I appreciate this was a joke, absolutely shocking as someone who works in addiction services. No offer of refund on the delivery, just an apology and “nothing more they can do”. £5k on furniture and that’s the response! They’re lucky they have quality furniture but very reluctant to buy from them again

    Paid over £1000 for a recliner armchair. After 18 months there was wear in the leather where my head lay. I have another one which I used for 5 years plus which is in perfect condition. When I complained they sent someone to test the leather and the response I got was that it was due to "local conditions "! The same head that lay on the chair I bought from Thomsons seemingly caused major wear to the Sterling one! Not interested in customer satisfaction and obviously not the quality of product I expected. They won't be seeing me again.

    Went in to get a table that we had seen a few days earlier. On going into the sales floor, we had another look at the table and decided that was the one. The only problem was being attended to by the sales team. We stood in full view of the sales team, but unfortunately for us, the 3 sales members were sitting on the couch displays and on their smart phones enjoying each others banter. We walked past them and went to the service desk at the back of the store. I asked the girl on the desk for some sales assistance she got on the tanoy and requested someone to assist us. A sales assistant appeared from the back store to assist. I commented to the girl on the sales desk that I wasn't happy that the 3 assistants didn't even raise their heads on our arrival to the store, but unfortunately, it fell on deaf ears. I commented to the assist that was attending to us as we walked past the 3 still sitting still on their phones. He just laughed and asked what table. At that point, we just walked right out the door. No, thank you to this store. Its a real shame because I was knitting out 3 properties with quite a lot of cash to spend.
