   I was taken to Borders General Hospital on 1/12/2025 firstly to A&E and then to ward 5. The care and treatment I received in both departments was exemplary. I could not speak highly enough for any member of staff I was in contact with. I have in the past, like some others , had problems with this hospital but I am sure it has improved immensely over recent years.

   I have to give full marks to the entire team at BGH , from the moment I entered the building to the moment I left I was treated with care and respect . What started as a routine appointment was quickly diagnosed as a potential emergency and swiftly dealt with keeping me fully informed at every stage.    I'm not sure what happened to me at this hospital as the other reviews seem good. After a fall while running my ankle ballooned up to at least double the size of the other . Went to A & E . At first the service was great , got triaged quickly and advised needed an urgent X ray , and sat patiently in waiting room watching everyone else go into the hospital, then became aware that people after me were getting seen to. I don't like making a fuss in hospitals as understand the triage system of priority. However, after 4.5 hrs, my sister in law (A GP) said something was amiss for an x ray not to have been done. Unfortunately, when I went to reception, the guy couldn't explain why (hinting id been lost in the system) , and now , because it was so late (due to others arriving) I'd probably not be seen till the following morning . I hate to say this but my suspicion is because I'm not a local, and my injury happened while on holiday , I think I was pushed down the list . I had to leave untreated , and will have to hobble on and get treated at the weekend when I get home. Leaves a source taste on the area and staff of this hospital.

   Good service but not very hygienic. I have OCD (germaphobia induced) and literally feel sick whenever there is litter or bits of food lying around (which there was a lot of today and even some hiding behind the chair I was sitting on where I left my bag. There needs better inspection involved as this could pose a great health risk to those with a compromised immune system or otherwise those in a more vulnerable position.

   A truly wonderful experience at A&E. The care I received was exceptional and incredibly fast. The doctor was kind, compassionate, and truly brought me back on my feet when I had already lost hope that anything could help. The nurses were absolutely amazing — gentle, caring, and so supportive throughout my whole stay. From the moment I walked in, everything was handled with care and efficiency. Special thanks to Karen at reception, who was so helpful and reassuring. I’m deeply grateful to the entire A&E team. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

   We would like thank Mr Moore , Mr McCormack and all the supporting team at oral surgery for the support and kindness that was given to our son last Monday 30th Jan. Even although he has no speech, severe autism, and learning difficulties , he was treated with the utmost care and respect . He is now making good progress after his operation.

   Unfortunately had to go to hospital during holiday and from stepping in the door the staff and Doctor were great. Welcoming smiles and very pleasant even when could see how busy they all were and the amount of ambulance emergencies coming in. NHS are an amazing team that I am proud that we have.
